Summary
System: Chi Eridani
Station: Evanescent Dusk (Megaship, large pads available, 405 Ls from main star, 58.23 Ly from Sol)
Objective: Hand in Combat Bonds after fighting for Alectrona Imperial Society in Conflict Zones
Time limit: 10th April 3311 @ 06:00 UTC

Description
Several incidents have occurred in the Chi Eridani system involving supporters of Shadow President Jerome Archer and Imperial Senator Denton Patreus. The former group blames the latter for trying to subvert Federal governance of the system.
Vox Galactica spoke to a representative of the Imperial agents in Chi Eridani:
Federal political complacency is to blame for growing calls for the Empire's grace. Denton Patreus is a man of honour and discipline - traits the Federation often lacks. We simply intended to demonstrate how effective a strong inspiration can be, but came under attack from Archer's mob. We have the right to defend ourselves.
Patreus's power base has called for combat pilots to sign up to the ongoing conflict. Pilots willing to participate can register at the Evanescent Dusk megaship in Chi Eridani.
Pilots who contribute on Patreus's behalf will receive credits and a Imperial Eagle Empire Etiquette paint job. Those who are specifically pledged to Denton Patreus's Power will also receive 40,000 merits if the Patreus campaign emerges victorious.
The two factions have set out week-long operations to establish their positions in the system, beginning on the 3rd of April 3311.
To be eligible for rewards you must sign up as an active participant before handing in Combat Bonds at the Evanescent Dusk megaship in the Chi Eridani system.
Please note that if you have any crew members, a proportion of your combat bonds will be automatically assigned to them. These combat bonds will not count towards your personal contribution total, and your crew will receive the reward for these combat bonds when they are handed in. The proportion of combat bonds assigned to your crew will depend on their rank.
Be aware that faction-state changes and other disruptive events can negatively impact markets and station services, and could prevent the initiative from running smoothly.
Notes:
  • Competing with Federation CG

Hey, why is everybody else talking on the other thread?
Nobody wants to side with the Empire? Or nobody likes Patreus?

More seriously, I noticed that you can sign up to both CG's...does that even makes sense?
Opportunists or paint jobs collectors, here we go :)
Maybe because I replied first, and that one was on top, so now that one looks more active and is usually on top?

Yes, you can sign up for both, always have.

I guess people non-aligned to either can sign up for both as a mercenary. People aligned with one of them might have a bit of an awkward time if they do.

Eh eh...flew it once, liked it, found no use for it, parked it :-/

I'm using it as a taxi to get around my neighborhood which is full of colonies. And since I'm trying to stimulate my colony's BGS state, I pick up courier missions. This also gives me the excuse to visit my neighbours so I can keep tabs on how well colonization is progressing in my neck of the woods

The IEagle is also great for surface mapping unexplored planets. And also for scouting for good sites for placing hubs or settlements.

Of course by this point, it's obvious I don't give a damn about Denton. Somebody should have taught him some humility a long time ago. Though I like Archer even less 🤷‍♂️

You're looking at both strong arms of the Federation and Empire facing off here, especially so with Archer who takes after Hudson and is basically his lap dog (but somehow worse). Neither are a good option, if you're an external observer not fond of authoritarian powers. I describe Patreus as Arissa's guard dog for a reason. Don't like her rule? Well, let's see about that when his fleet shows up in your system.

I'm not participating on either side of this conflict, but am keeping a close eye on it regardless - because if the Feds and Imperials now start swinging at each other, there are no Titans to distract them from it...

Since they are BGS CZs, not Power CZs (which, again, are broken, and have been since release 5 months ago), I think anyone can choose any side.

I know this is going to sound awful... especially since I am currently signed up to patreus' powerplay...

but this CG has quickly reminded me why I hated the old powerplay v0.01 and hate the current powerplay v0.02.
So I'll just sign up for both sides and get the minimum 1 credit to get the skins then go back to what I was doing.

got my contribution in on both sides!
cheers everyone! may the most bankrupt (financially and morally) faction win!
I'mma go back to having fun with bounty hunting and trading and the occasional bit of powerplay grinding, cause this conflic ain't worth sweating for just 40,000 merits.

It looks like there are two separate wars involving the Imperial Faction happening in system. I just did a CZ and got bonds both from the Imperial Faction and the Pilot's Federation for some reason. Do these both count for the CG? I'd check myself but I keep getting Mauve Adder'ed.

[...] I keep getting Mauve Adder'ed.
Is it that bad?
Between the usual heavy load from colonization and now a CG in the pipeline, I guess the servers are screaming.
Oh well, I can't play until 10pm US Central today...the load should be fine by that time :-/

Yeah, where the heck is this war? I was going to check, then I got Mauve Addered and decided to stop playing.

I am surprised at earning PF bonds. Try turning them in and let us know!

Lmao none of them counted! Thanks FDEV.
edit: by none of them I mean both the Imperial Bonds and the PF Bonds. And this was supposed to be my break from Colonization bugs lol.

I first sided with the Empire, and my contributions got stuck for a while ar zero, the ~300k, then suddenly jumped to 5+ millions...maybe some la with the servers?
I then sided with the other side and got stuck at zero...I will let it sleep and see tomorrow.

Hey, I also rerouted a capital ship by taking down all its heat relays...quite a hassle to hit them at super close range while tanking a hell of a fire (had to reboot my shield a couple of times...quite surpised, seems like weak disco lasers against NPCs...) I did not see how many credits I got for that...is it worth the hassle.

Last but no least, does the Empire has it hard? It was easy peazy to clear the CZ high when I sides against them, and did not even lose 5% of my shield. When I sides with them, it seemed way harder. And then, the megaship to cash in is depressing...almost no commanders there, hard to find the landing pad, no shipyard... :-/

Yes, in general. The Clipper and Courier really can't compete with even the old Federal Something Ship designs, and their capital ship is a lot weaker.

I think there has been exactly one Fed-vs-Imp war CG that was won by the Imperial side, though there are bigger reasons for that than just the NPC balance.

Bonds earned at ground combat zones count. Since the contribution is in raw credit value, it's faster to farm these (only goes up to medium intensity) in a ship you bring yourself than flying back and forth between Frontline and the planet. This also makes sense for Patreus supporters because your bonds cannot be turned in at Steve Masters to count anyway. To do this:
1. Roll up in an SRV and select your side via the comms panel.
2. Get out, win the round, board your SRV and quit to menu.
3. Log in and repeat.

I find the orbital CZs to be far too HP bloated to efficiently farm and end up spending a lot more time for about equal pay as a medium ground CZ.
