I remember one particular m8 of mine years ago saying how sad it was playing any games...saw him a year ago after his gf kicked him out over his call of duty addiction...true story that.

I feel young here at a sprightly 45...almost ended my second marriage over an addiction to freelancer. She told me to choose between her and the game, so I held the door open for her. She didnt see the funny side and stormed off in a huff...she came back of course...more upset that I never went after her than her original gripe...women pff

Almost all my m8s...the offline version couldnt care less. Me m8 davy used to be an utter headcase in the good old days...now builds and collects model trains. Stu...now happily single and still playing though not call of duty...now its gears 4. Few others...all weirdo oddballs in their own unique way and all with hobbies that are laughable in their own way.

Im too laid back to care if anyone has an issue with what I do, whether it be gaming or indoor horticulture, and I take both as serious lifelong interests. As well as cars especially alfa romeo, mountain biking although as a spectator and race marshall now due to being disabled, walking a pair of jack russels and occasionally using them while poaching...gaming is just a thing we do...hardly the strangest of hobbies ^

I hate commercials, so I don't watch TV. I watch netflix and buy shows or movies on Amazon sometime - mostly just to watch while I play video games.

That is pretty much what I do, Original Star Trek or New Generation running while I cruise around. :)

I've been a gamer for years, 53yrs old now.
I would rather spend my evenings enjoying my game rather than mindlessly giggling at a scripted sitcom.
I do spend a lot of time outside, but when the sun goes down i'm on the pc.
How many of you receive the same amount of flak?

From my dad, actually. I had to move in with him for a short period whilst I was between homes (I travel a lot, so my time for looking and inspecting is limited). No, keep in mind that I'm in my 40's, and he still had no issue barging in randomly and telling me about the orror of my ways, that I was wasting my time, and my life, on that computer game thing ( keeping in mind, most of the time I was actually working, because it seems a 70+ year old can't comprehend that some people work remotely these days, with a laptop...).

Also, keep in mind that he likes to spend his evenings sitting in front of the TV, complaining that the TV guide is wrong, and what is on TV is not what the TV guide said (yes, the paper one from the newspaper), then proceeds to whinge about there being nothing to watch, and when there is, he complains about all the ads. Hhhmm... Who's wasting time?

...As well as cars especially alfa romeo...

There ya go, you're have just proven that you are, indeed, mad.

I have a very particular weakness in life...rare and unique cars built by those with passion and not simply because they paid to design something fer the mob. If a car doesnt have its own very unique identity, with enough poke under the bonnet to make kids in audis look silly, then its simply not worth owning. The cost of keeping it in that condition is the price of obsession...and lets not even start talking ICE systems that mean ye will hear it coming before ye see it

My daughter used to call it peter pan syndrome...most everyone else calls it an ongoing mid life crisis that started a decade ago ^

If I ever once denied being genuinely mentally unstable, then quote it or I deny everything and refuse to speak to anyone until the rest of the chimps finish their tea...be rude to leave before tea is poured ^

I probably should not mention my current object of *must buy soon*. But I will.

The MV Agusta F3.

I know it's flaws. but it sounds sensational, handles beautifully, and looks drop dead gorgeous.

So what if it needs a new sprag clutch every 1000km so it'll start, and sometimes chooses to break valves at high revs. (2017 model revision may have fixed that...).

Most of my friends are on their PCs, playing what every MMO suits their fancy.
The bulk play WoW, and have since SWG went a far, far away.
Enjoying life as our mortality dwindles.

43 here most of my friends spend an unhealthy amount of time in the pub. Gaming for me as a night worker helps pass the time and makes a 10 hour drag into a pleasant experience. It's my first job where I am able to play games since I'm a glorified night watchman. Sometimes I have to deal with agitated people but the majority of the time is spent listening. So what better way to do that than play games with the volume low. I kick myself every night, I tell ya. Oh yeah and in my free time I don't feel as compelled to sit there wasting my days off in front of a computer. Win, win!
