I would like to suggest a slider timer to set the amount of time the blue orb will last around planets after being fully scaned perhaps from 20 seconds to a min tops. Just a thought. A glowing blue Earth like is not very pretty and switching modes all the time is already getting old after a few hours

I agree. There is no further benefit to leaving the grid visible in supercruise once the body has been 100% mapped now that mapped status is shown in the sysmap.
Not sure it even needs to be adjustable, just have it fade out over a second or two while the 'completed' message plays out. It could remain in the mapping screen.
