Swap between controller and Hotas in game

We asked Frontier for clarification on this during the AMA's last year before development on console was delayed indefinitely. Never got an answer to it. I don't think they'd even thought about it at that stage if I'm honest.

Still none the wiser.

Well, i'm really curious how they will map EDO control scheme to a Controller.
I found their default controls pretty much spot on for space/srv play.

Thankfully my HOTAS works fine for on foot gameplay as well. I'd hate to switch around every time I disembark.

I just connected an extra d pad and set the controls for on foot to it. Works fine until there is an update when they are always lost. I never seem to have an issue with both at once and never need to change anything in settings.
