Swapping the Anaconda for?

Cant argue against fun factor :) Flying a fast ship is a blast indeed.
I just wonder how much boost that tiny PD would allow? My guess is there will be a long recharge period between boosts or no boost at all.
I have a different approach to this: D grade thrusters coupled with a larger engine engineered PD. With this setup i can boost every few seconds, allowing me to run on boost indefinitely. That means maintaining speeds in 430-465 range. Which is more than no-boost A grade+small PD.
Exactly. That's why I have 5A PP & 4A PD in that Asp, boosting + shields&booster + countermeasures + guns + FSD need juice to run. :) Ship still has a bit over 48 LY jump range on fumes (45 LY full tank).

I had a 4D engineered PD and tested both of them how fast I could boost. The 4D I could boost every 10 seconds, the 3D I can boost every 15 seconds. And the difference is around .2LY range so I'm happy where it's at. Being able to keep my speed at 430 is the big reason I went with this setup. I had a bigger PP as well but wasn't breaking the 38ly range and that was my goal. With this I achieved that 😂

And A rated thrusters have great heat efficiency and able to dirty drive tune them without a big hit to heat efficiency.

Well I done it. I've went with the Clipper and modded the heck out of it. https://eddp.co/u/Xq3gglXS
I am now waiting on 2.3 to finish with the mods. It was a blast customizing it. I unlocked 7 Engineers in the process and got above the limit rolls on the Thrusters, FSD, and the Power Distributor. She is a blast to fly

If I do ever get to take a long voyage, it will be in my Clipper, without a doubt.

I'm just going to say that my Maturity Check failed with one of these sentences.

tested the Clipper in Beta and I like it very much. How long would it take me to rank from nothing to Baron?

Depends if you can find an Empire station with a lot of Donation missions and lots of money to burn. That's how I got mine a long time ago.

If you dedicate it I'm sure you can get it before 2.3 lands.

A true explorer doesn't care about maximum jump range, only about the number of new worlds to discover! ;)

I would explore in the ship that is the most enjoyable for the task to me, since I don't have an option to switch up until I'm back in my home port.

I did it in three days by stacking missions at Millerport in Quince, and made >300 million at the same time.

Depends on where you want to explore. If you just want numbers, plot an economical route in a sidewinder.
But if you're trying to go somewhere in particular, jump range is a real time saver. And if you're trying to get somewhere far out or high up, it's the only way.
Either way, having the jump range doesn't hurt. You can still make smaller jumps.

Unfortunately I am making an executive decision. After testing the Clipper some more and coming into a planet with only .29g with mountains, I boosted righter after glide completed and noticed I was coming in HOT. I pointed up and sure as heck I could not boost because of the small PD and I smacked the mountain side. Luckily I did not blow up but hull was down to 35%. So instead of the Clipper I am taking the Python. Something about the Python I just love, it just feels right to me. The Clipper slides waaaaaay to much for my liking. I feel like I'm walking on egg shells when I'm flying it near the planets surfaces, even with a larger PD it's still dangerous. For those curious I was able to re-use a lot of the internals on the Python, this is my load out https://eddp.co/u/PNcYXd6b

Thanks. I heard about Quince. I will check that out. In the void for now but hoping that this will work with 2.3 (mission stacking)

It won't - there's a cap on the number of planetary scan and massacre missions you can take in 2.3.

Yeah. I heard about the change to mission stacking and decided to spend a few days at Quince and Ceos so I could make some cash and get the rank before the patch.

This^^ Repped.

Can you transfer ships to Colonia? I'm in at the Core in an Asp heading for Colonia and it'd be nice to finish in my Anaconda. I'm guessing it would take weeks and cost 100s of million if you could.
