Sweet FX, GemFX, and more; Please, do tell me how the heck to get it to work?

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=87727

I attempted to follow instructions through this forum. So far, I haven't been able to get the stupid software to work right. I put the files into the proper folder (under products -> FORC-blahblahblah) but it doesn't seem to do anything/work. I would really like to get it to work properly.

If someone could give me complete detailed instructions on exactly which files to put where (such as for the gemfx download which includes the gemfx software as well as sweet fx), that would be most helpful. How do I get it to work?

I also have a limited keyboard setup, considering I am running bootcamp on an iMac. I'm using one of these: http://www.apple.com/shop/product/MLA22LL/A/magic-keyboard-us-english?fnode=79

Not the same model, but the same key setup.

Do a search for EliteDangerous32.exe and place the injector (dxgi.dll) where it is located. Remember that ED is dx11 and not dx9. Horizons beta is dx11 64bit. If the installation isn't done correctly then nothing will show up.
Things like Windows 8.1 will give injectors a bad day. Win 10 can also be a little tricky but most of the time it just crashes.
Do try ReShade though. It is a software that is being updated frequently. EDFX, GemFX, SweetFX etc are all built on ReShade's binary. :)

Will the file you linked modify my game and make me unable to play online?

What do you mean the complete package? I have to drag and drop all the files into the folder, then? Exactly as they are after unarchiving?

Thanks!

Ok.

So I downloaded the thing. Extracted the thing in my downloads folder and found an app to decompress it.

Copy-pasted the files into the directory you told me about.

Doing so apparently doesn't allow the game to launch? Am I missing something? The readme references several other files that are not found in the file I downloaded. And it mentions different .dll files depending on the client you are using.

Do I copy-paste the ENTIRE file just as it is when I decompress it into that directory? Or is it actually something else?

Is this for Insomnia FX or EDFX, or both? Or are they kind of the same?

I apologize, I've been searching for detailed instructions. Couldn't seem to find any.

Do you mean for the Elite: Horizons beta?

Have tried to run those several times, i just gave up

They all are really complicated tricky and picky with your hardware /software, i prefer not to complicate my life. Also the information and guides are really limited if there is not any at all.

yes..it won't work for Horizons or Ships BETA. Works fine for the normal game.

just watch that youtube link I posted and follow it....works well.

It can be difficult if you've got some OSD software running, and in some cases you might not even know that you do. E.g. EVGA Precision X installs and runs it's OSD stuff that you can't even disable unless you delete the files manually.

Then of course there's the matching ReShade's bit version to the game's bit version.

I did watch it but the files seem to be slightly different, and their acquisition different as well.

Do I just drag all those files into the designated folder or is there some other important step I am missing? Been trying the other mods too but can't seem to get them to work.
