Sweviver's Coverage of the Pimax VR meet up in Berlin.

I'm currently 23 interviews in...

ED relevant reviews so far:

Subjective:

* It's a game changer.
* "This headset was made for ED."
* You're really there. No more diving helmet.
* Also, 3D pr0n has a really big sweet spot(!!)

Somewhat objective:

* Pretty much no God rays. No glare.
* Sweet spot is about 100 degrees... MUCH better than 1st gen sets.
* Black levels are a little bit high, Depp, dark grey rather than actually black, but with careful settings should be ok.
* Colours show enough saturation.
* Tracking (currently prototype) is basically OK unless you swing your head.
* Your sense of spatial awareness is out of this world...
* Distortion is a bit like triple head monitors. If you look for distortion, it's there right at the edges, but nothing intrusive.
* It's better resolution and clearer even than the Vive Pro.
* Resolution is REALLY apparent with menus and text AND distant spacecraft compared to Vive and Rift.
* Screen Door effect is pretty much non existent.
* It's the lightest headset I've ever tried.
* "It's so comfortable It fits my really big head. So happy that something can fit my big head".
* People with narrow IPD and glasses might need to use the "prescription lens mount"

I am also a backer and it looks very promising. Hoping to get mine in october, but it will likely be november.

The only thing I need to decide is whether to stay with the 8k or go with the 5K plus. I will wait for the reviews.
