Switch the HUD's primary color to blue when in Analysis Mode.

I understand that people have requested official support for custom HUD colors many times, and I understand (to some extent) the reluctance on the developers' part to let people apply arbitrary colors to a complex interface (which may still evolve). Yet, a blue HUD does look nice.

As a compromise (that does not exclude anything longer term), I'd like to suggest an update to the HUD that uses the current orange color in Combat Mode, and a nice blue (chosen by the developers) in Analysis Mode. It would add a little variety, would have a practical benefit, and would make people far less jealous of other players that are able to use custom HUD mods.

The problem is it's not that they don't want people to be able to change colours, but that the colour codes in the HUD are also used in many other aspects of the interface, so changing colours in the HUD while it may look good in the HUD may adversely affect other areas of the UI interface. It's something that has been asked for a long time and is desired by just about everyone, I expect if it was easy to do it would have been done long ago.

I sent in a ticket about this quite some time ago and the answer I received was exactly what varonica stated above.

They also mentioned that there were no plans to change it.

It's a shame because I'm really tired of the orange myself.

As I originally said, this would be specifically limited to the ship's HUD in Combat Mode, so it would not affect anything else. The primary HUD color would still be orange. Nevermind.

We can't even assign keybindings on XBox (if you use a controller). It's strictly keyboard or controller (unless you're typing into a textfield). That wouldn't be so bad, but half of the possible bindings that pads normally support don't work. For example, you can bind X+L3 to something, no problem, but when you use the binding, it fires the binding for X+L3 and X and L3.

Nothing works properly. Like, they allow you to bind the View and Menu buttons, but they also use those buttons in the bindings UI to cancel and delete bindings, so you can't actually enter the binding without cancelling or deleting it too (the attempt also deletes the default binding, so you lose that as well).

Even if you do create bindings you're happy with, the HUD breaks, so messages that tell you which button to press have gaps where the icon for the button should be. It's clearly a PC game that they just chucked on console without any real attention.
