Switch Tracks

I believe on Expedition Everest they have a pair of switch tracks back to back because when they roll back from the ruined track they stop after a switch track and the switch again to go forwards. In this case the switch tracks in the game would need a way to be toggled to allow going past or holding to switch.

Look up DarKoster and Pantheon as Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Both have switch tracks that go past and then switch. In the case of Darkoster, there are actually two one at the beginning and one towards the end. Basically putting the station between the 2 switch tracks which then allows the coaster to make a "second circuit" along most of the rest of the track for a longer ride, but a very compact footprint. In the case of Pantheon, they have it set to go forward through the curve, then backwards through the straight and then forwards again through the same straight section. It is considered a multi-launch coaster and very very fun.

With the case of DarKoaster, it is possible to do something like that if you are willing to do your entire layout twice.

This is exactly the type of coaster I wanted to make when I heard about "Switch tracks being in Planet Coaster 2"

But 6 months later we still do not have switch tracks. We just have some special track elements on like 3 different coasters. :(

People were giving me clown awards when i was asking on steam forums PRIOR to release if these switch tracks would be limited to only certain types. Turned out that worried red flag was justified. I realy hope they bring these pieces to other coasters too otherwise this is huge missed potential.

Powder Keg also uses a switch track so that in the event of a rollback, the train doesn't collide into the station (the launch track has no brakes)

Interestingly, none of the hydraulic launch coasters in the game have brakes on their launch tracks either, which allows for a shuttle design.

I'd love switch tracks - all that's missing from my big Grizzly Mountain Coaster Layout from HKDL.

Got the trains better - just need the cable breaking backwards drop section to make it even better.
