Switching seats in multi-crew

How does one change seat in Multi-crew, assuming there is a third, empty, seat?

(Does it matter? No, not really, but who wants to sit in the right hand seat of a Corvette, staring at that stupid support during transits).

No, owner of the ship always has the helm. From the rest of the seats you can choose your role, but you can't change them per se.

if the ship has a fighter bay installed, you can switch to the left seat.
actually, i don't know if having one installed is the prerequisite, but it sounds likethat when you think that the third seat is exclusive for piloting the slf,
while the gunner can always drop into a fighter, if there is an unused one in the bay...

As far as I recall, there is no option to switch seats.

Some of the seats make you feel like a third class citizen.

I think last time I played MC I was stuck in the back in a Cutter :-(
