Rotton tomatoes gave season three a 100% rating. That is very rare. https://www.rottentomatoes.com/tv/the_expanse/.
I myself enjoyed the intelligent story writing and excellent character developement that grew throughout the length of the show.
This is an example of what the world is like now. And other homogenised and shallow shows such as Star Trek STD, and it’s nonsensical characters and crap story writing gets renewed, and something as awesome as The Expanse gets cancelled.

That's why I do not watch unfinished shows. The Expanse was actually an exception to my rule and lo and behold - disappointment. Meh.

I was going to start watching Westworld, but now I decided not to. I'll let them finish it first, as in ALL the seasons. I have plenty of older stuff that is actually completed that I haven't seen yet.

I just watched the first couple of episodes of "The Expanse" last week. Is it worth watching if the story is just going to cut off?

Is it going to be like "FlashForward" where the abrupt ending made watching all the previous episodes pointless, or is it more like Firefly where it was cut short but is brilliant to watch anyway?

Boy! the Fox executives really like their axes

It's based on book series, so I guess you could watch the first 2 seasons and then read the books...

Blame the Reality TV generation, utter tripe like TOWIE, Made in Chelsea keep on going and going with insipid, brain dead nonsense and good stuff get's cancelled. This world is so depressing right now.

must have been because it was not PC enough or something something....

however I digress, and I agree with you...

What?! I heard it was getting great reviews etc. What season did it make it too?

I am always on the lookout for box sets to compliment my ST TNG and Voyager 7 season epics.......sadly they are rare.

Syfy have come up with a number of decent series in recent years.
Dark Matter
Killjoys
The Expanse

I know shows get cancelled all the time, but this seems like a real punch in the nethers. The Expanse is not only high quality production, but also shows that there's an appetite for this sort of series.
Hopefully the producers can get one of the other networks to pick it up. Netflix or Amazon have deep pockets and aren't averse to taking a chance. Altered Carbon on Netflix was amazing.

It's just incomprehensible that syfy keeps renewing an awful show like Killjoys and kills Dark Matter which was rather nice, and now The Expanse which is the best scifi show TV has seen in many, many years. The best since Battlestar Galactica, at least.

I've just read Lucifer was cancelled and now this!

Not happy!

Lucifer god a godd start, with a good first season, but since season 2 it turned into a different direction for some reason and was really going nowhere, with every episode being the same and the same again... There was no need to turn Lucifer into yet another police procedural, and not even a good one either.

It's a shame they wasted the source material, but what they made of the show after season 1, it was just a matter of time before it got cancelled.

It was picking up though at the end of season 3.
I had fingers crossed for a cracking season 4. But oh well.

... except SGU being godawful

It wasn't though, it was darker and more serious and for that it was refreshing, Eli losing Ginny was a particularly dark standout for me and the premise of uncovering the secrets of the Universe was intriguing and finding out who those Aliens were. The Commander had issues and his relationship with Rush was unpredictable.

The Expanse: cancelled after 3 seasons.

Keeping up with the Kardashians: 14 seasons and going.

This is the world we live in.

Totally agree with this

I think the problem lies with Accountants running the companies now, they see a choice...

Make a show that requires story-writers and special effects. which costs to make OR stick a bunch of loud-mouthed morons in a room and put four camera`s on them and call it reality tv
