Syncing Coasters and Aligning Grids

I know this has been requested before to have Syncing Coasters, or dueling side-by-side coasters which automatically depart from the station at the same time, but to go along with this we also need to have the ability to connect two or more stations to the same grid in order to make lining them up a little easier.

Same thing with aligning a blueprint to a coaster station or other building, it would be nice to be able to attach a blueprint to a pre-existing building grid.

Basically what I'm trying to say is, we should be able to combine building grids [cool]

Yes indeed.

If we could build two stations for one Track, we could have two different Tracks with the same Coaster. You start at one Station, ride around the Track, and end at the other Station and exit. Then People can enter that Entrance and exit on the other Station :D

I think that has already been done, search for the blueprint dueling dragons

But that is very very difficult to get synced just right

Yes, but why jump through hoops if they could add a "Sync" Button that Starts the Coasters Simultaneously.

Also it is currently not possible to have two Stations with the same Track.

This is a great suggestion.

Generally I think there is a lot of room for improvement with how the building and grid system works.
It would be great if you could switch between grids inside one building or even create "sub-buildings" inside a large general Building menu (including some kind of tree to select and rename different parts of the building)

You already can switch between the different Grids. Just klick the other building when the building menu is open.

The coasters are the biggest disappointment in my opinion. They also seem to have been neglected in every update so far. I know we are getting some new types in April but this is not what I mean with regard to the neglect.

We simply lack options and features to unleash out creative juices. I want to get technically involved with the things I make. I want to invent coasters that could be made in RL but have not been.

The coaster builder should be a tool with every option available to use in almost any situation, however ridiculous. We should be able to make a duelling coaster with 8 synchronised trains that race each other simultaneously in forward and reverse. We should be able to launch a junior coaster at silly speeds and set how many laps it makes per ride. We should be able to make a reverse launched log flume if we so desire.

In short the coaster builder should be a global tool for designing anything imaginable without limitation across all coaster types. It wouldn't affect realism if that's what you are going for.

It should be like an image editor where you have every option available to use in any situation. Even if the outcome would be totally unrealistic it shouldn't be disallowed. I don't want to be restricted just because "there isn't a real ride like that" This is a game, not real life.

Here I made two coasters and a station building to cover them both.

I managed to get everything to align despite it being two separate buildings/coasters.

Its impossible to make it stay synchronised and impossible to make it into a blueprint too. (only one ride/coaster per blueprint) Yay restrictions. A true duelling coaster would exit station1 and enter station2 then exit station2 and enter station1 again. If multiple stations were allowed I could save this as a blueprint as it would be one ride.

How come old RCT games were so much more versatile with regard to coasters? Sure they only had a strict set of parts that hindered true freedom of movement, but they offered so much more.
All we can do is make a basic loop of track and call it a day.

The game is called planet coaster but it feels like the coasters were an afterthought. They keep adding flat rides that I hardly ever use, yet they never improve the lacklustre experience with coasters.

Sorry for the semi rant but Its so frustrating!
If the game was called Planet Flat Ride then I would be more forgiving about the coasters lack of features, but its called Planet Coaster. The coasters should be the main point of the game!

Imagine if there was a racing game called World of race cars but the only cars you could drive were these.

Imagine a shooter game where the only gun you could have was a water pistol.
That's how I feel about the coaster tools in planet coaster.

Don't get me wrong, I do love the game, its beautiful, but beauty is worthless without intelligence. I would take function over form any day.

I agree Snodge!

During Alpha I remember the devs saying they wanted the coasters "as realistic as possible" and that "it would be a major part of career mode that the coasters are realistic" but career mode doesn't really care if your coasters are realistic or not.

I wish they would ditch the "realism" factor and just go wild, like you said, let us do whatever we want. More freedom, more creative = more possibilities to have fun! and RCT3 really did have a lot of features that are missing in PC still

How would the Game judge if you built a realistic Coaster?

I didnt say it needed to, but I read that from one of the devs before beta was released (cant find direct quote though). The exact wording was something along the lines of: "The devs wanted the coaster building as realistic as possible, and that it would play a major part in career mode" I supposed they meant the rating system which is pretty good [up]

Hmmm well i'm pretty happy with the rating system, because you can't build a killer coaster and expect good results.

i'm in two minds here. i think the coaster building, and coasters it allows me to build, are awesome.
AWESOME!
thank you Frontier for the insane amount of work it has taken to get this far.
the passion and love you've poured into the coasters and the tools are clear and visible in so many ways.

and
i'd love more of the features that RCT1/3 had.
like synch stations.

and i'd like reversing, and branching, transfer tracks (automated adding/removing cars), multistations and unload-only stations.

but i can wait, you guys are flat out building much awesomeness, and i appreciate that.
