Newcomer / Intro System Requirements

Hi guys, before dropping £40 and not wanting to destroy my memories of Elite from 30 years ago could someone please let me know if my system can handle the new game. I have an Alienware M15x, with Intel i7 CPU 1.73GHz, 4GB RAM, 64-bit operating system, windows 7 & NIVIDIA GeForce 980.

LOLOLOL pretty sure you're fine.

I'm running it in ultra on an i5 3570k/16GB of RAM/GTX 680 and the framerate stays nice and smooth (aside from a couple sub-second hitches from time to time during warp)

Ok so maybe if I boost up my RAM it will run pretty well..... Anyone have any other views on my systems ability .... ? :)

I'm running with i5-4690k and at GTX750ti (SC) with 8GB RAM at ultra. All smooth.

I don't think you'll have a problem.

If you feel the need to upgrade anything it would be the RAM but you meet minimum requirements.

BTW the game runs acceptably on my Asus H81M-Pro with 4Gb RAM a dual core Haswell 3.2 processor and on board GFX.

I'm running an Intel E8400 3GHz dual core and nVidia 250GTX and runs surprisingly well on high with just the occassional glitch on entering the letterbox on docking.....but hey, that just makes docking more exciting ;)

I'd be absolutely astonished if yours didn't run with everything set to it's highest, especially if you up your RAM to 8GB

pmsl. That rig is beter than mine. Have a geforce 750 and it is running as smooth as a babies backside.

I was thinking of upgrading my 250 to a 750 to get rid of the glitches when things get busy (like docking) as they're going quite cheap now and I can't afford much more. So you'd recommend the 750 at sub £90?
