Ships T9 or Anaconda for trader

I just switched over from the Xbox to the PC servers. I had been flying a T9 nnd an ASP Explorer.

I was, initially, just planning to replicate them. However, some threads I have recently read has me thinking. I am a pure trader (with occasional exploring) in my game play and interest. However, having no ship (I am currently in an adder), but enough money to purchase the ship I want, I am seriously considering the Anaconda instead of another T9. I have always felt that the T9 was deliberately less than it should have been.

If you were starting with money, and no ship, and were interested in nothing but trade, and occasional exploring (where I was using an ASP Explorer) would you go with a T9 and an ASP Explorer, or just an Anaconda, and why?

If money is no option, I have 3 ship suggestions for you, with 3 top reasons:

Anaconda
Anaconda
Anaconda

Versatility
Versatility
Versatility

Anaconda has the cargo space to equal the T9, has the jump range to equal/best the Asp Explorer, and has the hull armor/ utility slots/ weapons loadout to pretty much be the most versatile ship in the game. If you are not too iffy about the barge quality of its maneuverability. But then again, if you are used to a Type 9, you will be perfectly fine ;)

..just my personal opinion, of course.
Yes, I own an Anaconda.
And an Asp.

What he said.

Unless you are scraping the barrel with money, or have a roleplaying reason, or a masochist, then maybe the T9 is for you. Or if you have the money and rank for an iCutter. Every other reason points to the Anaconda as the goto large trade ship.

If the T9 ever gets a similar module buff to what the T7 got, it may become a viable trade ship.

Yes I own an Anaconda, and a T9 and a couple of Asps.

Anaconda is pretty safe to trade in. Plus it's a good investment, because you can build it up to be anything you want. It can be a great trader, fighter, explorer. You name it. While T9 is just that - a space cow, and if you ask me pretty easy target.

If you are allied with local factions and have a good Trader Elite rating a 256 cargo Python (can land on medium pads) can generate very high profits doing cargo missions. Easily makes more than my 704 cargo Cutter at the moment.

T9 for Space Cow character...

Anaconda if you have an ounce of sensibility in you :)

I love my Conda, she's my main ship!

Nom nom..

One aspect to consider is the view from the cockpit, the T9 and Asp have the cockpit located at the front so unlike the Anaconda don't have around 70% of the hull in your field of view, not an Anaconda owner BTW although I've flown several in Betas.

Anaconda hits a sweet-spot for size, range, flexibility and capability in the large-landing-pad-capable arena as the Python does for medium-landing-pad-capable ships. An Anaconda will carry close to T-9 cargo capacity, though outfitting will reduce that, she jumps 2 to 3 times as far and looks good doing it while being a far-more-difficult-to-hit target. If you need bigger than an Anaconda, grind for the Gutamaya Cutter. 720+ tons cargo capacity and looks good playing the game . . .

The Anaconda is like the Rolex of E: D ships. It's expensive, boring and everybody either has one or wants one, but it's a steady work horse and lets you do so much. The T9, on the other hand, has this rugged, industrial feel to it and loads of personality. Engineer it's components wisely and you've got a great trader/miner, and some enterprising Commanders have even used it for exploration! In terms of cockpit the T9 wins hands down, as the view from the Anaconda is probably most similar to that from an oil tanker's bridge.

If you value the look and feel of your tradeship, it's T-9 hands down.

If you value in-game practicality, Anaconda easily wins.

Basically this.

Worth noting that again, as mentioned, the T9's canopy is awesome. Makes for a real good feel of what's around you.

Well, seeing as I have had a T9, I decided to do something a bit different and spent the extra for an Anaconda.
