As a lone wolf player, someone who comes home from a hard days work just wanting to relax and lose himself in space, but who also wants to experience the liveliness of an online universe, and even the chance to pvp if he's feeling a bit rambunctious, I have a high degree of trepidation of becoming nothing more than cannon fodder for squads of well organized, in communication, professional gamers (like I experienced in War Thunder, and subsequently left.) While I don't want to, and feel it would be a travisty to be forced to do so, I will nonetheless only use single player mode if this is the case.
I'll reply now to the initial obvious advice that will be directed at me: "hey, Suul, go find a group, invest in teamspeak, and become something less than cannon fodder." Well, I simply don't want to. I'm not that kind of social player. And I won't whine about it further. Like I said, I'll just play single player, and maturely face that fact that you can't always get what you want. I'm a lone wolf, plain and simple. I like playing in a rich online world of other lone wolfs, where nobody benefits from hunter pack tactics and everybody survives and/or dies upon their own abilites - kind of like the initial release of Battlefield 1942 way back when.
I don't begrudge anybody the right to form groups and communicate and have a grand old time of it, but I truly believe that one should have the option to pick - what do you guys call them "shards" or instances - that either have teamspeak or not. I think that instead of squads mauling lone players with little to no chance of surviving such well organized onslaughts, squads should be made to face the challenge of going against other squads... and perhaps any lone wolfs who opt in, considering themselves bad____ss enough to compete is that environment.
Options. I think it's warrented here. This is just one man's opinion. I'd like to hear yours on the matter.
