Horizons Tedious Gring

I'm quitting this game. I've tried 4 times now to rank with an Assassination ranking mission, but I can't find the target. I've ranked b4 this way, but I now have 4 back to back mission failures. I scan Nav then head to where the target is expected. I scan every ship while in super-cruise, scan every signal source and no joy. The hostiles they say are coming after me show up, but not the mission target. Games are supposed to be fun not irritating and you off. I'M DONE

You'll get a mission target USS, it will be blue, just be near the right location fly about a bit and it will pop in.

Or, as I just learned from Zeeman (some posts above):

I take "my throttle to 0" as still be in SC and wait.
Didn't know that, was always orbiting the planet or sun.
After 2 years+ I'm still learning something new.
Or call me "perma-noob" if you like. :p

Just make sure you scan the system beacon first (or the planetary scan point) - the emission info details which to scan. It's all good - I did my first assassinations (in nearly two years),and my first planetary scan jobs this week. Always learning.

I hear of Commanders who want to rank to Admiral in a week, have millions of credits and the largest ship in the game. These are signs of the "I've got to have it right now" world we live in. The problem is, these people never reach satisfaction.
Surely, it would be the end of the game if you reached satisfaction?

Maybe a little longer to realize that owning one or all of the big 3 ships are not the Holy Grail either.

I guess you don't have a fully engineered Corvette then!

Correct.;) But I've flown one in Beta and it's actually the only one of the big 3 that I'm interested in.
But not so much that I would call it 'Holy Grail' or that I feel I could not wait any longer.
I plan to be still around in few more years (if I manage to live that long, that is).

Btw, you do realize that even a lot of the veterans prefer small and mid-sized ships over the big ones, don't you?

Agreed. It's really about what are your aims are in Elite.
If your goal is to be able to melt everyone's face, then Corvette might be the "Holy Grail" you're looking for.
If you aim for different things, you'll end up in different ships.

Me for example, I have a Cutter. ANd love her to bits. But the "Holy Grail" ship for me... is the Keelback. That ship is just perfect fit for me. :)

I've never reached Satisfaction. Is it far from Sol?

For some, it is located at Lincoln. For others in the deep canyons of Ariel. And some may have to jump to the Beagle point and continue in Supercruise from there and they won't find it. ;)
