TEMPORAL ANTI-ALIASING like this would be awesome in Elite Dangerous.

Unfortunately we only get Thargoids. If I use Preparation "T" will it help get rid of them? Any Dr. that can confirm?

LOL Rep++

It depends on where the Thargoids are attacking you. :D Do you have an itching sensation accompanied by corrosive green slime, down there?

Back to the original topic: This game needs Preparation "TAA".

Bump. I can't stand those jaggies anymore. They hurt me to a physical and mental level.

Well since all the devs got cut by the jaggies and bled to death i'm not sure who you wanna do it lol.

In all honesty here, i feel like FDev is focusing on the console development and other issues right now, i feel like the PC version is a bit neglected.

No news about the engine improvement, nothing about Vulkan, TAA or other stuff.

I am hoping that with the dropping of support for 32 bit and solely develop for 64, that TAA will come sooner than later. I OC'd my GPU and tweaked my CPU last night and have everything turned all the way up and smooth as silk, and yet there are Jaggies still. PLEASE in the name of Lord Braben, The Powerful Sandro, and the Galactic Intern (no not Monica, I mean Ed) make this happen...

TBH i hope for Vulkan before anything else. It should mean a lower CPU usage (and more FPS for me) or better supersampling on the same FPS hopefully.

Afaik FDev didn't say anything about Vulkan or DX12 until now.

I really don't believe that the PC version is being neglected at all. If it is something that is neglected it is the Mac version.
The PS4 Pro and the PC will most likely be able to handle TAA so it's all down to engine implementation. Hopefully, with the post 2.4 quality of life updates, we get to see this happen. Or perhaps a forward render plus mode to enable MSAA.

Wow...For the 2.5 years I've been playing I though ED looked like this because my monitor had a problem. This game really needs better AA.

Does anyone else have a problem with AA not working at all? Only FXAA works for me, nothing else, tried forcing it through Catalyst and EDFX

Nothing works

Temporal Anti Aliasing fine for anything with low motion, it is absolutely crap for anything with high motion like cockpits, cabs, etc IMO, as you get ghosting

It is fine with high motion objects, if you have good framerate. Don't use TAA on a lower end machine or if frame rates are low.

it is still comparatively crap even with >100fps or more, what may be high motion to you may not be high motion to me, sure it has its place in low motion settings.

Not by my experiences. Which game and TAA implementation have you as an example of "crap" with >100 fps?

In general, fast moving scenes don't benefit from AA (except for screen captures). Where the problem is most noticeable is for slow and non-moving images.

I've recently noticed something unexpected: Lately, I've been playing on a 3D monitor (with LCD shutter glasses) and the aliasing isn't as bothersome to me. Because each eye sees a different image, the jaggies along edges aren't as noticeable; it looks more like an edge glint as opposed to jaggies. It may be different in VR (because I've heard complaints), but my screen is higher res than current VR goggles.

NVidia seems to be touting MSGAA (G for Geometry buffer) as the new hotness for deferred rendering at the moment, showcasing the latest update to Eve:Valkyrie as an example.

Let's see what the boffins makes of its pros and cons. :7
