Ten reasons why cockpit crows would be cooler than cockpit cats

Lastly...cats are SO cute:

I have a related crow story.
I live near a crows nest (I'm not a pirate) and once found an injured fledgling crow near our bird feeders. It looked like it had hurt it's neck.
Me and mrs put it in a box and fed it mincemeat like it was worms then I drove it to the local wildlife hospital the next morning - poor thing was wedged in its box in the footwell of my old landy listening to me singing crow inspired songs like "hard to handle". I handed it to the vet who seemed interested to have a crow patient, and I was really sad to see the crow go but happy he was in good hands. We weren't allowed to hear of his fate but could visit and potentially find the only crow that could sing "hard to handle" out of tune.
2 days later a badgers tooth appeared on the feeders - there is no way that a dentally challenged badger could have got there so it really looked like a present from the crow family - I'd read about this previously but hadn't expected it happen to me.
We still feed the crows. Below is a picture just after we rescued him.

TL : DR crows are great and gave me a present!

That is a cool story mate! Made better by the crow singing hard to handle out of tune!

You just made my day. +1000 (y)

I'm sorry, crow apologists. I'm not having it.

There's a special place in hell reserved for the two crows who were pecking the legs from under a hedgehog outside my window a few years ago. I rescued the hedgehog (use a THICK towel, kids) but the crows were still watching while I hid it in the middle of a jaggy hedge.

Crows. Barstewards.

Cockpit Hedgehogs, okay then.

I reckon that as a species, crows are smart enough to have individuals that are both altruistic and gits - you seem to have encountered the latter - a crowgit!
Cockpit hedgehogs are a great idea though. Provided we get thick blankets and some sort of flea suppressant.

The cockpit hedgehog would move almost imperceptibly from one side of the cockpit to the other.
