Terrain collision with paths.

Heyo,
While I was building my habitats I noticed something weird, if it was intentional or not I do not know.

I have made an elevated path ever so slightly above the ground, that way i can make sunken habitats.
When I was terraforming I noticed that with the normal push-pull method I can easily take away the ground under the path (1). When I tried this with the flatten to elevation I managed to go under the path, but a small but ugly ground bridge stayed under the path (2). Was this intentional? and while I do not mind it all that much, it is much easier if it worked both ways.

3 and 4 are more or less the same, one is done with pull-push, the other with flatten. Why are we able to remove terrain under the path, but not add? I would love to see the raised (not the ground path) to have no collision so we can terraform closely around it.

I know you guys are getting a lot of (positive) criticism, but frontier! You have made the best game I have seen in years, topping Planet Coaster by a lot! Thanks:)
Cheers Woody

I could be wrong but think it's by design as I think it's to negate any issues that could be caused by terrain clipping into a path.
