terrible bug - My station somehow finished it self and this guy literally stole my system in plot

Not a native English speaker and I'm now at rage so my apologize for any inconvenience in reading my post.
I was plotting to colonize Synuefe QS-T c19-2 ,and was building station in 2nd system in plot in Synuefe sv-k d9-58 to reach it. I've realized the possibility that some one may storm claim the next system you want the time you colonize your current system so I got a habit to not to contribute all commodities in final run. So after latest run in TYPE 9, I left 124 Titanium required , the colonize percentage was 99% , no brewer cg shown, and I go back to my carrier to switch to type-8 to tie the end. Because its medium ship and I can claim Synuefe QS-T c19-2 right after I deliver the final 124 titanium.

Thats when something strange happened. I switched from T9 to T8 in my carrier ,and find my the colonize ship gone. I opened the map and find the station already finished!!! I was doubting my memory and checked my commodity sheet , and made sure that I collect right the 5260 titanium need for the station , and there is right 124 titanium left in my carrier,which matches my memory when leave colonize ship minutes ago.

And he cant reach there from system else because second close system is hip-22368 which is 16ly away.

Now my 2 weeks of work is ruined for nothing. I DONT KOW IF THIS GUY USING HACKING METHOD TO BE INVOLVE IN FINISHING THE STATION OR HE'S INNOCENT AND JUST TOOK THE CHANCE OF THE BUG. BUT ANYWAY FDEV PLZ LOOK INTO THE ISSUE.

Sorry for your loss, but this isn't a bug. Anyone can complete a station, and once completed, they can use it to colonize.

So people other than architect can finish the station? If so the design is rather terrible. If I want to claim a system I only have to sit there and finish the final run in last system in plot. 'Sniping' other commander's work right ?

This is correct operation.
Any old Commander can come along and donate to your construction if it suits their purposes - I have to confess to having done that myself.

I appreciate your honesty. However this is quite a flawed design. Fdev are encouraging this griefer behaver.

Why is it griefing? It is a design choice.

Any CMDR is free to contribute to the building of a station, and if that completes it, someone has helped you.

Claiming systems is first come, first claims. They had as much right to the next system as you. It is not a big deal, just find another system. There are plenty out there.

Anyone can finish/complete a station...

Once the station is finished, then its colonization function can immediately be used by anyone...

This is a known thing and the behavior you are experiencing has happened to others and is not new or a bug.

Not that it makes you feel any better (maybe worse) but this is the way things work at the moment.

If you dock at your outpost and scroll down the Local News you will see a second CMDR delivered 124 units. A third CMDR kicked off colonisation for your desired system. Whether this is pot luck, three or more of you wanting the same system or a group working against you - who knows

If you decide not to uninstall, or come back after a break, consider how to minimise time between last couple of deliveries and starting a new colonisation if you are desperate to daisy-chain a specific system. On the occasion I thought it might happen to me I left 1-5 units of most items on my carrier, swapped to my Type-8 and delivered them with the last load. Anyone wanting to complete and claim the next system would have required 10+ types of commodities rather than one

I konw what you mean. Everyone contributes to the colonization as the design should be. Yet it just happened that someone rushed the last 1% contribution（if he contributes at least 6% I would call it a help）for an architect name in a system. So a name in a fine system actually matters to a few. Thanks for the enlightment. My mistake putting too much weight on the game. Good time to put it down.

That depends on the definition of "THEIRS"... My system is MINE in that I can decide how to build it out and what to name the stations/settlements. That's enough for me!

However, the issue here is not whether someone "owns" a specific system or not. The issue is if someone was colonizing a system specifically to use as a stepping stone to ANOTHER more desirable system. Its not about ownership, its about spending a bunch of time to accomplish something and then having your ultimate goal swept out from under you. Its unfortunate, arguably a "Richard" move, but not a bug.

While I completely understand the OP's feeling of loss, this is simply the way it is. The biggest issue I think is that colonization is so new that many folks don't understand what things can happen and how. (This is definitely NOT a unique case) Its more a matter of lack of public knowledge about how these things function. If the OP knew what could happen, it should have been fairly easy to prevent (examples were provided). ...and that's why these discussions exist. Someday, all this will be common knowledge I think.

All that being said, I would be in favor of some sort of minimal station (or colonization services) lockout - to other than the System Admin - to provide a little more wiggle room here. 24 hrs?

This will work for a short time before people just bring a carrier with all the mats needed and Help you finish your system: people adapt to strategies like this pretty fast.

Also, Colonization Gangs will even probably (already) work on significant chunks of your main station (you are at 80%, fly for mats, come back and its done) if they want a particular system bad enough.

Or for a really organised one, start from a system further back, so even if Frontier implements some sort of "the architect can make the first onward claim" protection it does nothing to help anyway, because you're suddenly in a race with a larger group that you weren't expecting and they were.

If youre in a busy part where alot of players are building expect these kind of "clever use of game mechanics"
Fdev doesnt know anything about multiplayer games,and the depravity a tiny amount of players will do to gain any advantage.
