Well they don't need you, they already have 1000s of beta testers.
again, your missing the point completely.

just because a group of people found out about the game and paid a long time ago, is pretty unfair.

There is a test server, IE completely seperate server for testing purposes. These environments are for testing new mechanics, modified mechanics/see what's been changed, bug reporting, etc.
Usually pre-launch, such testing environments are closed Betas, usually for backers/earlyadopters/invited people, however post launch, that environment is usually opened up for people to test things with, even between major content releases.
You probably have seen them before, or at least heard it in conversation, usually you see then called PTD(Public Test Domain) or PTS(Public Test Server) or PTR(Public Test Realm) or some other in universe name or some such.

There is no law that say that FD need to open beta testing to everyone after full release. In other words it is up to them and as they already have all the testers they need why would they ask for more?
Seems these 1000's of testers still can't find all the bugs before public release.
So I am with the OP why not open the test server to all that want to test? There is no privilege about being able to access the test server, as we all know you start with nothing and have to progress just as in the release. The more people testing the less likely a bug will get through unnoticed.
Being? You want to be in the beta? Well I want to be a millionaire.
Because it would take too much of FD time to manage all the communications.
It's about having access to test environment for testing purposes, and it doesn't matter whether it's there is a content release coming or not.
That doesnt happen with the Elite servers. When there is no beta running, the test servers are not open for anyone, beta backer or not.
There is no privilege about being able to access the test server, as we all know you start with nothing and have to progress just as in the release.
Probably when they don't have enough people testing the beta. Right now they have enough people so why should they undermine the privilege of those who paid more for their copy?

Maybe because with ALL these testers they have bugs still get through. More testers=less bugs...
And now you have caught up to the heart of what this thread is about, or least what's it's supposed to be about. That is my point, the opening up of the Test server as an open test environment for testing, ANYONE's testing.
