Texture rez too low on max settings

Texture settings on Ultra look like a downscaled budget option. I've seen better in MMORGs from 2016.

Particularly terrain; but also bulding exteriors and to a lesser extent, animals themselves.

It detracts from on overall experience, to be honest. I look at an animal close-up, animal looks fine (could look better to be honest, at least simulate the fur), but grass its standing on, or painted rock, looks like blurred garbage from a mmorg circa 2014. For some reason a screenshot will not attach but...

I get that you have to cater to people with budget machines, but not everyone is running budget hardware.

Please add higher-rez textures to game.

There is a texture bug that alot of people are experiencing and it sounds like you have it too. It can effect the animals too not just objects and scenery. I figured it would have been one of the things they fixed in the first patch but nope.

Before just assuming that it's apart of the game and not a bug, I recommend looking through the forum first to see if anyone else is experiencing it which many people have been, including myself.

Also what do you mean by "Animal looks fine (could look better to be honest, at least simulate the fur)"? The graphics for the animals are amazing (if you don't have the texture bug). Without a screenshot it's hard to understand what you're getting at with this? 🧐

Im not talking about texture bugs. The rez is simply too low for modern computers. I will give you minecraft comparison, since I play some minecraft. Terrain textures in planet zoo look like cheapo x256 textures. at best. They SHOULD be, in 2019, on Ultra, at least x1028, and maybe x2048 size.

As to animals. Im not specialist, full disclosure. But neither am i a green-horn student anymore. Long-haired furs look like tech from 2016. Zoom to the bear in tutorial. Look at its fur fuzz close-up. Its dated tech, way dated. Looks just....old. Witcher 3 level. You can type in google hair simulation videos from tech demos in 2018 and 2019. Look like real-life almost. Then you click back to that bear close-up and you just feel bad.

Wow you are an arrogant little one aren't you. Well I'll leave you to it then while I continue to play in 4k with beautiful textures (and i'm a stickler for bad textures on PC games).

and you have what to do with the devs exactly? Feedback is meant for them, not for you. Different strokes for different folks, you do you and play with garbage terrain textures. I have higher expectations from a 50$ title.

I think comparing it with minecraft textures does not really make much sense. These are static, while fur and hair do move.

While I know there is better 'hair-technology' possible, I also understand that not everyone does have, or can afford a top-notch gaming computer.

And with a game like Planet Zoo, where there's different angles, fast switches between super close-up textures and an overview of a full zoo - I don't think many would be able to play it - if anyone at all - if there were these incredibly GPU intensive textures.

I personally am pretty happy with how it turned out graphics wise.

The game isn't suppose to be like Jurassic World Evolution, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Horizon Zero Dawn (and many others)...It's like looking at new pixel games like Stardew Valley and saying "Pixel graphics are outdated. Use better graphics/textures like 3D games do today. "

I think when it comes to the animals they've done a pretty good job. The paint textures are good too. Sure not ultra realistic but good enough. Go play Jurassic World if you wanna see some good grass. 😕

So obviously then textures when used in large chunks or if you view them super close up do show signs of repitiveness and blandness. You need to combat this by gently merging textures using the opacity slider.

When done correctly you can create some awesome looking ground textures that look so realistic.
