Thank You FDEV!!!

FDev, I thank you. Over the last few months since introducing Fleet Carriers, you have made Elite Dangerous even worse than what it was!! Every time you introduce something new, you break something, every time you try to fix what you had broken, you break something else and it goes on and on. I really tried to like Fleet Carriers and the game overall, i mean, I've been playing ED almost non-stop for a year, and on and off for nearly 2 years, but I've had enough: the game is way too grindy, instancing is a nightmare and the game is full of bugs, bugs that have remained in the game for years and you have not bothered to fix. Galnet is gone, community goals are non-existent and commodity markets are a joke. You advertise this game as a trading game, but trading is really difficult to do without 3rd party tools.

And talking about the ED community, the game would be dead without the dedication of the community; the various tools they have created and social events they organise, and now having to create their own community goals because you can't be bothered to do it yourselves is amazing - but all this should be part of the game already!!!. Better tools should be made available IN THE GAME for market prices across the galaxy. If Galnet news can be made available instantly across the galaxy, so should commodity prices!!!

Anyway, i could go on, becasue you don't seem to care about the game as much as the community does, and wanted to thank you because i have spent much more time doing my passion of astrophotography due to difficulties of finding reasons to play this game anymore... When i think of playing Elite, i shudder and prefer to look at the real galaxy outside. Thanks again.. Attached are pictures of Mars and Saturn i took not so long ago

Complaining is pointless because its futile.
1) So true, as even for a white knight and super fan like me, they ignore any suggestion I make(goes for other WKs too ! )

The only thing left is to have a go at white knights when they refuse to see elite for how it is.
2) Incorrect and futile , see #1

Yours ,
A hugely disillusioned white knight :(

I have no idea what you are talking about.

Never done any grind in this game.

I've had the pleasure of experiencing very few bugs.

Trade seems to work perfectly for me with the in-game tools. Never used a 3rd party tool for trade yet.

Good on you for still staying around even after being made disillusioned by the frontier developments. All the previous white knights just left. Or got transformed into a grump.

Yeah everyone goes though a period of good faith thinking that frontier is like that. At least they stopped claiming it. Back in the ed lewis days its a huge frustration because they had the nerve to stand up in public and claim they listened to the community when they obviously don't. If you look at the 4-5 times in elites history where they claimed to have, you quickly see that they planned on asking the community anyway. Lately all they've done is use the community as a scapegoat for being late or cutting features from the live service.. mind blown.

By concentrating on DLC that includes the biggest and most significant addition to the game that people have been demanding since pre-release are they not concentrating on exactly what "the community" has always asked for ?.

Nobody asked for their favourite game to be slowly taken apart by patches and ‘updates’.

There are so many unfinished features and many more existing features that have either been broken or completely removed from the game.

It’s like seeing your favourite car go in for a service at a cowboy garage and when you return you car is not even roadworthy.

I honestly can’t see Fdev pulling the team away from EDO to fix a tenth of the key issues. They are running late with EDO, missed the boat with the next-gen consoles and clearly have no intention of delaying even further.

It really is time to move on, over the last 2 years I’ve invested more time in these forums than the game. Trying in vain to get Fdev to commit a small team to keep the lights on while they work on EDO. Instead of keeping the lights on, they are switching them off one by one.
It’s a risky strategy hoping their customers will stick around after the terrible service they have provided.
I honestly cannot see Fdev giving me any reason to log on to Horizons again. I’ll take a look at EDO as I will get it ‘free’ when / if it is ever released.

I think its pretty standard for any service game to have a team that can make maintenance level changes to a live game while the core of the team works on the upcoming new content. If frontier existed in isolation as the only game developer on the planet (or had a team of 5) you could forgive abandonment, but they aren't.

EDIT: But yay for space legs. Its going to be a carbon copy of horizons but on a previously unused class of HMC with fps instead of srv. If only it were safe to guess its going to be any more.

New content, regular patches for that content and incoming DLC is pretty much the opposite of abandonment.

That's pushing it. Because it was one new content in.. 1.5 years? That volume doesnt check the box in my mind for supported. Oh wait arx and the noob zone. Still doesn't do it. Okay i admit it could count in a court of law, but does it keep to the spirit of the concept?

Oh wait, just in case you think the community was the first concern when building space legs, lol. Read the kickstarter pledge page and the infamous newsletter 29. They're on their plan they had from the start. The novelty and innovation i think would come from them getting internal development experience and tooling so the Frontier Publishments can have more options when deciding future games. And if its anything like how the park games went, it will take them up to the third new release to actually get it right.
