Thank you for killing SR builds, removing skill aspects and the role of small ships. But as this seems to please the masses who cares about my oppinion or the degrading state of PvP over the last 4 years. Anyway I was lucky to have lived in the golden age of PvP, once upon a time in a galaxy far far away before engineers, night vision and crime updates.

Yeah Frontier seems to implement stuff as board decisions or people working in individual rooms without communication... Anyone who wanted to build a stealth ship for whatever reason now is useless against the power of night vision. The only ones that MIGHT still work on is NPCs / Thargoids but I'm sure Frontier will handwavium it soon enough to not matter ever...

Wonder if the devs could make night vision not work on ships that are in specific states i.e. silent running, heat < X, etc.

This build was designed to be undetectable > 500m in PvP, when flown with f/a off, black friday skin and not agressing.

Night vision only changed the "Black Friday skin" part of that.

Paint jobs were never meant to give a combat advantage.

Are you sure about this? I mean... Silent running is more about heat-mechanics rather than visibility.

They're just being dramatic and pouty. Silent running works fine. Abusing a Frontier Store paintjob just works mildly less well, that's all.

In practice, I doubt much has changed there either to be honest. A gank victim is still as unsuspecting as before. And yes, of course they're mostly gank victims. If it's mutually agreed to silent running PvP, they can mutually agree to not use Night Vision. If the lack of a black skin is what loses you a gank, well...

People who thought they could buy a skin that gave them a ganking advantage lost a theoretical advantage, that's basically all.

I dont personally gank but if I wanted to I would not need a black friday skin

No, not really. And especially not in Elite. I'm just annoyed at people whining about Night Vision and trying to pretend like it's really not the advantage they imagined Black Friday (or other dark) skins gave them that they're upset about.

The best thing about 3.3 was removing the false horrendous lighting we got once we were on the dark side of any planet. Now it is totally black, hooray !!!!
