Thank you for ruining the game and my experience

Ok so i haven't played for a couple of months so i figured i would spend some time this weekend and re learn the controls & continue working my way towards getting my Python.
I updated the game, took 2hrs.
Logged in read my notes and took my Lakon 7 out for a spin.
So i figured i would continue where i left off, filled my cargo hold up with cargo and jumped to the next system where i knew i could make some decent profit. Bang! Interdicted escaped the first only just, then bang another just 7 mill miles out from the station.
Ok so i figured i would just put my shields to max and wait until my jump drive was ready to re jump knowing i would probably take a bit of damage. Bad idea, my shields went down in the first pass and i was down to 7% hull within 60 seconds.
Dead!!!
Wow you can imagine my frustration, i had returned to the game to continue the long grind towards my Python but here i was about 2 million down.
Ok so i figured its a tough game and yes i can expect to get killed every so often, took a deep breath and tried again. Bang same thing, Interdiction un-believably difficult to avoid and then NPC ship so overpowered it killed me in less than a minute.
Well TBH i've had it with the game now, i'm done. Whatever you did over the last couple of months has made it an unpleasant experience for the casual gamer.
Enjoy your game guys time for me to move on to something else.

Always target an out of system star. Always submit to interdiction - set off chaff and jump out. Total 18 seconds.

Many of these issues could be avoided if the game actually tried to inform people about the new changes, as it is now, a casual player that opens up the game without reading anything on forums is bound to have a bad time. Even though some very simple steps could solve their issue, a casual player does not want or even thinks to read the forum.

People are largely left to discover on their own, and this might work when you start in the sidewinder, but when there are huge changes mid-game, so to speak, especially when it concerns changes that will kill people, there needs to be an effort to inform people that new options are available, such as the now viable mine launchers and the increased need of point defense etc.

Let me see if I have this straight... You take several months off, come back expecting everything to be the same and are surprised when it turns out differently, yet instead of learning from the experience and possibly reading up on what is new and has changed to ascertain why you died you go ahead and make the exact same assumptions and die under the same circumstances then blame others for your issues?

These Topics are a Common Sight lately I guess.

I know if I was a totally casual player, I'd be pretty upset that my Space Trucking Simlator 3016 suddenly turned into Dark Souls in Space.

If you're gonna change the rules, Frontier, fine, but at least be upfront about it. At this rate, I'm going to log in one day without having read all the patch notes, and find out that the NPCs can now destroy your cargo with one hit or something else equally dumb.

Bonus points to the OP for poging an 'I quit' post that starts with 'I havent been playing for months'! I think someone should take this to the next level, and post an 'I quit' topic at the NMS boards already. :D Anwyay, I have to stand up for the casuals here, because this is starting to become slanderous. Lets summarise:

1) Start a game after months of absence, because you are interested to see what has changed.
2) Dont read-up on anything, dont try a cheap ship, dont take it safe in anyway, just do what you always did.
3) Fail. Badly.
4) Go back to step 2 until you cant take it no more.

Thats not 'casual', thats just plain stupid, and the two are very much not the same thing.

Haha
Thats a good Comparisson ^^

And yes.
Its unfortunately this.

Currently I would not even attempt to Trade. Because I would not dare to let go of my Combat Equipment when I got even a Single Commoditiy in my Hold.....
Needless to say I would never go Mining right now as its Suicidal to Run a Ship without Full Weaponry in an Area from which you cannot Escape within Short time....

Missions are (funny but true) are acceptable currently cause the NPCs Ranks are dragged down by the Mission Ranks thus not making you Fight Insane Leveled NPCs...

But the Overall Situation is a Fail to be Honest.
Currently this Game is nowhere acceptable for Casual Players.
If they Continue this I assume we will see a pretty bad Decline in Playerbase as the only Casual Players staying will be the Combat Focussed Ones.
Leaving only Hardcore Players for everything else...

No he has a valid opinion on the way FD dropped the ball regarding the AI and how it should have been better implemented. Not everyone is a hardcore gaming guru.

Ha! So if you do something that doesnt work, the game should adjust itself to make sure it works next time because otherwise its for 'hardcore gaming gurus'? 'learning from mistakes' is a super advanced Jedi mind technique? Not risking whatever is a lot of credits to you after realising things got dangerous is something that can only be expected from the most brilliant minds?

Yes, every opinion is valid in the sense one is allowed to have it. Doesnt mean the devs should take it seriously.

No, he was stupid, twice, nothing at all to do with being a hardcore gaming guru, it's called learning from your experiences.

You are missing the point entirely, and insulting people to cover up your ignorance only does you further discredit

You also seem so focused on your Epeen and have missed the whole point of the OP's post. The reason the OP has issues is the really bad way FD handled the latest big patch. Period. The AI changes would not have filtered through to someone who has not played in a while and I am not surprised he had a "Well thats fantastic" moment, as did I when I got repeatedly spaced due to the bugs. I swear you guys are so into shooting people down you cant see the forest for trees.
