Thank you, Mr Braben

As difficult as some choices are, we know when the time comes that they need to be made.

Odyssey as it stands is an incredible experience. Despite a weirdly insistent blaring of negative comments about this game splashing across the internet, potential players like myself only need to see a few Youtube videos of someone sneaking around a live settlement to get hooked. Sneaking around a hostile base wondering where the settlement alarms console can be found is a heart-pounding experience and you've done a stellar job of bringing it to us.

Everyone would have loved for a product of this depth and breadth to function on consoles, and regardless of whether it could have been done, no one can say Odyssey has been taken away from console players. They just need to buy a PC. Choosing a console is not a bad choice and comes with a guarantee of entertainment, just not enough horsepower to simulate quite this much variety.

So, as someone who has played games on any number of platforms, I applaud your difficult decision and look forward to the future of Elite. The game isn't without its flaws and for the main development line to stagnate would not be fitting to the stature it has managed to achieve.

-grateful player

I'm still looking forward to the day I can play Odyssey when I have the gear for it, and in the meantime, I really am quite happy to continue circumnavigating the Milky Way in EDH on Xbox. That being said I certainly worry for my fellow Xbox and PS4 commanders who just don't have the scratch to get gear capable of running Odyssey, and the lack of ability to transfer progression, at least as it stands is a huge letdown but I'm still more concerned with the overall survival of the game more than anything else.

Weirdly, this doesn't sound like a /ragequit. Are you sure you're in the right forum?
I feel that there are 3 types of leavers:
1 - leave silently
2 - say goodbye, often with a pointed remark
3 - rage quit with maximum drama

I like to thank that when my time comes I'd be a 1 or 2, but there is a high chance I'd have a couple of pints, my spirit animal (zippy) will take over, and I'd be a 3.

You owe it to yourself and everyone else to be a 3. You're not leaving a job with the potential to come back.

Oh, I'll definitely be a 3. If I'm going out, it'll be in a blaze of hypocritical glory.

Then, I'll come back in a couple of months.
