Newcomer / Intro Thanks a lot for the discount at engineer! Now impossible to get to level 4 and 5.

OP, we understand what you are saying. We really do. But it's not a bug. The game is not broken (well, at least, not this part of it). You can still gain the remaining rep you need to continue levelling up your mod. Just start modding something else. Your access level will then increase after a few more rolls. Then continue modding the first thing. It's fine.

is it more importent to prove me wrong than try to understand and look at the facts? My first photo is prof that something is wrong.
We understand the facts. We understand your photos. There's only one in this thread who doesn't, and they don't seem to want to accept solutions.

(Speaking as someone who has unlocked most of the engineers to G5 during the current discount on a new alt)

If you are only Grade 3 with the engineer you got the blueprint from then you cannot roll for any higher upgrade (grade 3 in this case) on said blueprint until you get a higher grade with the engineer. Not a bug as you seem to perceive.

Also using blueprints does not upgrade you with any engineer. Only way to do that is by visiting the engineers. ;)

But its fully engineered on grade 3 so I should have access on grade 4.

The only bug is a PEBCAK one.

People are trying to tell you that your ACCESS LEVEL (shown in the top left of your image) has not reached grade 4 so you cannot carry out grade 4 modifications yet.

Go to outfitting, buy a cheap module, do some mods with that engineer to raise you ENGINEER ACCESS LEVEL to grade 4 - then go back to your original.

People are only too willing to help you but you have to actually read what they write and not assume that they don't understand your problem.

Classic case of an OP 'NOT' reading, understanding or wanting to understand all the help this forum is TRYING to give Him (Presuming Him??)

Stubborn This one is!

But for Pete's sake just try doing some of the GOOD Advice that has already been offered, or play a simpler game.

That I know but I just have to test because its a Bug and you newer know with bugs
Not everything in the game that doesn’t work quite like we expect or wish it to is a bug.

Remote engineering is well known not to
Increase you rank with an engineer
Allow you to add an experimental effect
Convert a legacy engineered module to current standards.

It is unusual but possible to need very few “rolls” to engineer a new module so that your rank with the engineer doesn’t increase as fast as your progress with the module, it is of course ridiculously easy to get out of the problem just engineer some other module while you are at the engineers base it doesn’t even have to be the same sort of module and blueprint in fact it is best to pick a module and blueprint that uses the items you have most of available.

I am quite certain that when I originally leveled up the Engineers a couple years ago some of them did not fully level up on a single module. I definitely remember grabbing some other modules that I would use later and engineer them to increase my level with the desired engineers. Wasn't a big deal except yes I needed to have enough mats. Getting mats for level 1-3 engineering is generally pretty easy though. And engineering a couple other modules is not a waste of mats if you plan ahead.

PEBCAK? Is that similar to PICNIC?

Engineers Boost Ship Module Upgrading
17 DEC 3306
Pilots Federation ALERT

The effectiveness of engineers’ upgrading for ship modules will be boosted until the 7th of January 3307.

During this time, engineered weapons and modules will receive increased augmentation for the same amount of materials. This will apply to every workshop in Alliance, Imperial, Federal and independent space.

I understand your frustration, but the discounts provided in this promo do not affect the level you can get access to... In very simple words, the discounts only lower the consumption of materials when engineering your ship, effectively leaving you with more materials left for further engineering. You would be facing the same situation even without this "promo".

With every engineer, you need to do more engineering that just one weapon, or one ship component. The higher the level, the slower the unlocking is, therefore forcing you to engineer more components than you originally intended and therefore spending more materials than you originally expected... That is how engineers work in general...

So no, it is not a bug, it is just your misunderstanding of the process...

My goodness. Some folks are quite hard to help. Maybe a change in approach would help, but I’m not expecting it. OP, this place is a great place to get answers. I recommend you stop making it hard.

This is something that all new cmdrs will notice untill this discount is over. Its okey for old cmdrs that have allready opend grade 4 and 5. So it is a bug!
New cmdrs will not have a clue as to the complexities of the percieved issue. The game comes with a complementary bug-bear, in a variety of styles

Hey! I went mining, got some stuffz, came back to sell it, and they didn't givez mez Eleventy Trillions SpaceBux!!! It has to be a bug!

Seriously though, OP, I understand what you are saying, due to the reduction by FDEV, what would have given you access to Level 4 upgrades before will now be just short of it...So, get a different module (say the "Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator" for instance), do a few upgrades to it and in doing so, it will bump you OVER the needed access amount required to reach Level 4 access.

The argument almost seems like the Abbot and Costello "Who's on First" skit...My advice, take the advice of these Commanders...There are some here who have more Space Miles on one ship alone than I have on my entire fleet. They know what they are talking about.

Just my two cents Commander...

Take Care and Check Six!

Cmdr. McGyver, signing out.
