Thanks exploiters/cheaters!

Stopping board swapping is not the answer, at least not without increasing the missions that are available. Sometimes a faction has 15+ missions, sometimes none. Why is that? Couldn't everyone have minimum 12 rank appropriate, reward appropriate missions available? No need to mess with mission types, they're ok, but yeh, if you stop board swapping, there will be outcry. Even I as a non grinder use it sometimes to get an extra assassination mission or two.

I won't dig you specific quote, but there's actually reason why 2.4 started with tons of missions and then FD was forced to cut them down as servers timed out.

That reason?

Mission board flipping related to passenger mission exploit.

So it was kinda self goal. Players excused their behaviour because hey we can't do wrong.

Ergo, ED needs to have unified board for all modes. That will allow much clearer picture and would allow proper balancing of mission generation etc. etc. That's only way.

Use of a mechanic unintended by the game developer to gain some material advantage in the game.

Problem, in this case, is that didn't actually happen.

It was simply a game mechanic working exactly as intended.

Course, I'm sure some people were exploiting mode-flipping to cherry-pick the best missions but, aside from that, there wasn't anything about this which FDev couldn't have foreseen.

That's odd, because Sandy said recently that exploiters are a very small fraction of the playerbase. If they unify the board, there needs to be 150% more missions available on each board than there are now.

Couldn't agree with you more.

Well thank you VERY much you damn exploiters.

I love skimmer missions, it's my main income and I have been doing them for months and NO I did not use the exploit as I have no interest in that sort of thing.
but now all skimmer missions are gone.. ALL OF THEM!

So I cannot do my favourite thing in-game now and I have to wait god knows how many days/weeks/months for Frontier to put them back in.

Thanks exploiters, you selfish low life, thanks for ruining my fun. [down][down][down][down][down]

Dude, I really feel for you. This is me being truly heartbroken:

No, that's not odd. They are small number of players (I think in-game shows about 3 - 4k max engaging in this board flipping) but their behaviour with flipping impacts servers, as they spam demands to boards.

I agree with more missions and hopefully a bit more dynamic design as current one doesn't really support big number of missions that well.

The real people to blame are the whistle-blowers here in the forums. I know that they try to discourage witch-hunts here, but at this point it’s unavoidable.

For the record, I never visited the system in question (too busy farming Guardian stuff), but, like you, I make a steady income ~20 mil a week) off Skimmers. Now I can’t because a couple of morons threw a tantrum.

Here you go.

You can't really blame the people that took advantage. FD should fix the board flipping issue - that has been the cause of quite a few (if not all) of the large payouts that apparently they don't like.
The issues here and other outlier issues that involves mission generation from the BGS is much more complex than, just fixing board flipping or mode switching.

Skimmer missions are great. They really give you a nice reason to visit the beautiful planets, and shoot missile at them.
They are, but skimmer kill missions should be done from a SRV. Shooting them from a ship shouldn't count. That's the only change I'd like to see.

No way. How immersion breaking would that be?! Oh look a 3d printed arduino bot with a couple of rotors can survive a blast that takes down 2000 ton warships, why don't they make everything out of the same stuff as skimmers! Even better, we couldl get guns that FIRE these indestructible skimmers as ammunition.

That is ridiculous. Some people like myself absolutely hate the SRV but still enjoy doing planetside missions. Personally I think every mission should be able to be completed in a ship.

Try to ram one... ;)

I said the same in the other thread. If there was a way to complete the scan and recovery planetside missions from the ship I'd be all over them.

I despise the SRV.

Skimmer missions are quite fun when done from the ship.

Instead of imposing arbitrary limitations on the physical mechanics, why don't we insist they look into the core of the issue instead, i.e. board flipping, and mission type-spamming.
