Thanks Fdev, this is a more engaging CG reward system

Signed up for both parts of the current CG. Jumped into my Keelback (it's my favourite ship, and the one I spent most of my time in) and set of to pick up some Superconductors to deliver. I hoped to be interdicted by pirates on the way to drop them off, but as that didn't happen I took on a pair of pirate assassination missions instead. Both turned out to be in corvettes: The first one jumped me at the nav beacon, resulting in the entire instance jumping him in return (always very amusing), and the second I had to hunt down; ending in a very enjoyable 1v1 fight. On my way back to turn in the missions, and bounties, I came across a threat lvl 3 signal source and decided to drop in. Turned out to be a pirate mamba attacking a Type 7. So I took out the pirate to save the hauler, and continued on my way to the station.

In less than an hour I had earned the CG rewards, that we all know matters, by doing an organic, varied, and engaging game loop, in a ship I really like flying. I wasn't "forced" to use bigger and more powerful ships, or put in 50 times the effort in ships I like flying, mindlessly delivering thousand of tones of cargo or killing dozens of pirates to reach whatever % is required for maximum "special items" reward. Using special rewards is of course a good way to drum up extra interest from the community, but it shouldn't be what decides what side you chose. With how you did it this time I was engaging with the Elite universe, I could roleplay, and I had fun. So please keep doing it like this Fdev, even when there are competing CGs (Though you should of course not be able to pick both sides then).

I also enjoyed this community goal. I also have enjoyed the others as well. I really can't think of a goal that i was unhappy with. Maybe some small criticisms, but nothing bad to say. This thread could fit well into the general discussion, maybe more readers would find it.

I've been wanting to make a thread or post in a tread about this last weeks goal, just been to busy and when i'd get the chance I chose to playing the game. What I liked was it wasn't hard to start it, but was an investigation to get the most out it. It was Galnet with Cmdr Wortherspoon and Cmdr Beetlejude (hope i got those right) that i had caught on youtube after my second nights play, that they had tipped me onto higher res sites and nav beacons in other systems controlled by Community of the vault.

After that useful information I really started having fun. I had spent a good amount of time looking into ports with gallium, what they each wanted for goods on the way back, the jump ranges of those stations and the quickest possible turn arounds. I had even done a few three stop trading routes, boasting the profit by bringing indite to one of the gallium ports.

Then the rest of the night was investigating other systems with high risk extraction sites and trying out a few different ones, felt engaging and satisfying. I also had found a few compromised nav beacon systems that were fun to change up and travel to, added to the role play in my head. My following nights have all been trading and interdicting and bounty hunting a nice mix of gameplay.

On top of that the behind story, simple yet effective in building immersion and the HYPE (that FDev were masterful at) of the Panther Clipper, the decal and paint job rewards... I'm not even big on decals, i do like paint jobs, the exclusivity, all added to the excitement. Somehow? Not sure what they triggered in me, lol.

I should add, everything worked perfectly, no hitches or hiccups.

I have to retract a few assumptions and speculations about the ship itself in other threads.

One thing I can say about this experience is it all has been a ton of fun. <pun there lol This experience has also reinforced my opinion of the Elite Dangerous team and Fdev- They are good people, this is not like any other game model or business practice in an unhealthy predatory industry. They are still human beings who give damn about themselves and their ethics, integrity is rare anywhere in todays world.

O7 to those behind the scenes!

No sé qué me despertaron, jaja.

Totally Agree cmdr o7
