Thargoid Barnacles... good for more then just meta-alloys

I was gathering meta-alloys for the corrosion resistance cargo rack the other day, and I noticed the amazing drop rate for iron, nickel, sulfur, and phosphorous, at the site as well. I may start going there, to gather such things.

I didn’t know that. Useful info, thanks.

More than I had expected...
;)

Is it a good source of G5s?
They do drop g5s but it's random with the drop chance about the same as the quantities given on the planet description. But a single spike can drop several materials at once, up to 5, I think. If you need a whole smattering of stuff, these are good, but I don't think they match up to geo sites in the targeted farming department.

I'll have to try a few the geosites as well. Most of the time, when I get a lot of level ones I'll trade it up for the higher-level stuff.

Errrrm… don't raw materials only go up to G4 ? At least I've never seen any G5 raw material...
Sorry, been farming G5 manufactured mats. I've been looking for a good source of selenium, and the best place I've seen drops LOTS of yttrium, and NO selenium. I use a lot of selenium in engineering so I'm trying to find a good source of it(and manganese, but I suppose there is plenty in those areas).

What I'm saying is, do you often find selenium?

Selenium seems to still drop at its old rarity locations, at least in geo sites. I think you can find it in mesosiderite, too. They changed some things around when material traders hit but planets were no updated, so it's messed up.

I'm asking if I can find selenium regularly in tharg barnacles.

You should friend CMDR PanPiper in-game and go check them out.

Got it, I can just relog and it will regenerate itself right?

Just look for "ABC*" Barnacle sites in the Canonn spreadsheet, those are ripe every cycle and refresh during a relog. At least the one I have been to some times.
Maybe I can figure out on which planet it is, but I'm right at the office now and so...

Edit: a Link to the Canonn page with the Barnacle list, but I think I had another spreadsheet in mind as there ist no reference to the cycles on this page !??
So just check some of the Pleiades xxx planets in EDDB if there's any Selenium to find. "My" system was/is Pleiades Sector LN-S B4-3 , Planet C3, a site with two Barnacles and 5 MAs per run. Can't remeber at the moment if I found Selenium there.
