Thargoid Countdown...

---

To celebrate the fact that I can now count up to at least 7 in Thargoid, here's a deadly countdown :)

Got the idea from ape808 on the forums when he pulled sonograph images out which matched the Tharg co-ordinate audio:

Replicated and played with the scuzzy styling, mainly because it looked cool :). (But thanks to the science guys messing with all this I vaguely get that it's a base 8 number system communicated in binary triplets. One day I'll be able to count up to 8 in it ;))

If anyone else wants to make their own eerie binary, here's how :)

Software: Sonic Visualiser (free)

Technique:

Yes, basically just turned the gain on the spectro down so only loudest sounds are showing.

Using the source file here, which a particularly good capture:

and

Sonic Visualiser

Spectrograh with these settings (although a lot will depend on your source audio):

Main one to note is reduced gain ( on "scale" row.), also play around with the colours.

Here's the full message #1 from source linked above:

Here I was thinking it was going to be a parody song version of "The Final Countdown"

It's the Thargoid Countdown... do do DO do.... do do do-do-do...
