O7 Commanders,
I've been getting a number of questions about the new Thargoid Pulse Neutralizer prompting me to set up this space for discussion.
For those who like vides here is a link where you can listen and watch what is presently known about the Pulse Neutralizer.
As to what we know now, the pulse neutralizer is a variant of the shutdown field neutralizer in that it will negate the shutdown field, but is intended for the mealstrom’s core.
As of filming, the pulse neutralizer can be purchased from rescue mega-ships. An example is the mega-ship Federal Haven in the Altair system.
Each pulse neutralizer will cost, 1 unclassified relic, 5 massive energy surge analytics, 5 Propulsion elements, and 5 Sensor fragments.
The pulse neutralizer has a mass of 3.0 Tons with 70 points of integrity.
It operates on 0.4 MW of energy from the power plant and consumes 0.33 MW of power nominally.
Each activation has a charge time of two seconds, a range of zero meters, and a cooldown of 10 seconds.
The pulse neutralizer cannot be engineered, but it can benefit from engineering. Commanders should note that preliminary testing has shown the pulse neutralizer to consumers their capacitance at a rate of 5.38 MW/s or over twice as fast as a shutdown field neutralizer.
Pro-tip, commanders seeking a longer pulse time may want to engineer their power distributors with system-focused engineering and cluster capacitors.
What do you guys think of the data and my thoughts so far?
