You don't need to disembark, you get the missions from the main board inside your ship (under operations).
Go to stations near the controlled systems but not inside them.

Not the kind of reference I expected, but I’m here for it.
I killed the heck out of them yesterday in a Dominator suit with a stealth, not CZ, build Aphelion. So a harder hitting CZ build should do even better. They flit around, so my small experience recommends hitscan. Tactic is run to cover as fast as possible because they will all pile on you and kill you if you're in the open. Pop in and out of cover and kill them. An open door to a building is a good spot because there is overhead cover in addition to the sides. There are quite a few of them, and they will fly around and try to find an opening and blast you if you're just hitting from behind a building or a container or something. You do not want to try to tank them. They will kill you fast if you do. There are so many. You can tank the last one or two if you are a good dancer. They do have insane range of thier lasers, about 1km+ but they using gimballs, thus at 200+ m it becames not very accurate. Still G5 maverick shields, can last only maybe about of 2,5 sec, by taking fire just from single of them, and while its possible to fight them on foot, its not really viable to do that, they they will swarm in at no time and focus thier fire from few directions. I barely survived my first try, had to retreat and come back with scorpion to finish my first new mission.
They feels indeed like flying thargoid version of C2 gimball beam lasers. Scorpion works suprisely well with its missile launcher, unlike Scarab, wich will struggle, as it does not have that much range to safely fight revenants. But either of SRV's are helpfull a lot even just be being there, if parked about 500m away from settlement, once red mode, most of revenats will attack it with litte effect due being outside of thier missle range and thier gimball jitter prevent them to be able to destory SRV shields at distance.
With Scorpion its possible to take them safely one by one, just by simple tactic. Kill just one with missile launcher, then retreat (about 1km away) until they start partol mode again, then come back, repeat until one or two remains so then can be finished off. Due that initially if there is 5 or 6 of them, it can be quite deadly even for scorpion to be too close to them, but once there is only two or one remain, they easier to fight against.
I only had litte problem with them during very first encounter with them, due I went with plasma weapons (possibly worst choice to use against them - they wiggle around a lot) and what you did reply from me is not relevant anymore, on foot part, thats it.I killed the heck out of them yesterday in a Dominator suit with a stealth, not CZ, build Aphelion. What mats are you getting from these missions? Ship mats or ground mats or AX mats or ? All I did was provide security for a squad mate who had a mission, and the mission was bugged. The settlement to be powered up already had power when we arrived, even though the power plant recepticle was empty. Each one of us took turns putting the powerup in the power planet recepticle, and the mission would never succeed. We turned it off and on several times, and never did work. We went with another squad mate to another location for another mission and a very similar bug happened, only this time the settlement was truly powered off when we arrived, but would not give us success when we put powerup into the power plant recepticle. I enjoyed killing revenants for both of these, but we were all frustrated with these missions. 2 for 2 bugged.I only had litte problem with them during very first encounter with them, due I went with plasma weapons (possibly worst choice to use against them - they wiggle around a lot) and what you did reply from me is not relevant anymore, on foot part, thats it.
Later on, I just used my thrusty g5 aphelion and could take them on with ease (there is not even need to use dominator, maverick works just fine too) due they are not very clever at all - only initial batch of revenants actually patrol around, if these are killed, any next after them, will dont move at all much, they dont spread and definetly not patrol anymore. If they lose sight of you, they just remain fixated on general area where they last saw you.
There is only 6 per drop of them, had not seen more than this. They aint are even dangerous anymore, since aphelion is making short work of them, and headshot dmg seems to work if aimed at thier head "thing", where lights coming out is. I can kill 2 revenants with single clip.
But its not really worth to keep killing them, due that each batch spawn scout, wich will not jump out, and I even had one instance where I spawned 20 of scouts because I kept killing these drones for lulz. Note that scouts that hover above, if SRV is near, they will ingore it at first, but if try to take distance from settlement (like after completing mission), they suddenly will attack, thats why it not worth spawn too many. Funny thing is that you can kill them from scorpion with relative safe if they within 1km (600 rounds + few missiles will do), due that they only react if you drive away, and only way to get away safely in SRV is take care of any hovering scouts first. Calling ship it also might help to divide their attention away from you - But I am sure these pesky scouts will still aggro on SRV, especially if cmdr is inside, rather than at empty ship.
At that point, Ive done these missions many times, due that they are very good source of desired materials I did needed. In fact, AX reactivation missions are probly top tier choice to get desired materials quickly for upgrades and mods, as mission boards spawn like 30 missions each time, and almost all of these every time you get 5 of something good, its much more consistent oddy material source than anything else, because unlike with concourses, you dont need be allied with fractions (and rely on RNG twice, to get these 10 of something you want + third option negotiations success), you always gets 5 of something, and missions are always same, and not being chore like some non-violent, fail on alarm thefts for example can be. These missions are also at very top in terms of credit value per mission, of anything else that is on foot content out there wich is nice too.
Make sure the player who owns the mission arrives first, otherwise the settlement might be loaded in an inconsistent state. What mats are you getting from these missions? TY, yes the owner arrived first in both cases. Both broken missions occurred almost exactly the same time in different settlements of the same system.Make sure the player who owns the mission arrives first, otherwise the settlement might be loaded in an inconsistent state.
