This is what is left of Scouts when they are destroyed. I enhanced the image in Photoshop a little, but didn't manipulate it whatsoever. Only contrast, brightness and vibrancy were changed.

Ah cool, hadn't gotten that close to them after destroying them before.

I was always under the impression they are drones (aka automated/remote ships, rather than ones being piloted by pilot inside a cockpit - and not in the context of Thargoid "drones", as opposed to "princesses" and "queens" ).

I think this confirms my assumption. Scoutes are remotes/drones. And they look inside like they look, because Thargoid ships are biotechnology, remember? I never really thought what's inside them, but I did wonder how Interceptors look inside before.
