Thargoid Structures Theory ...

The system on the right has similarities with the classic 9 planet Sol system, complete with 4 larger gas giants....... along with 2 and a half binkywillion other systems. :)

Yeah, that one might take a while to track down. Is the system on the left confirmed as Merope?

The megastructures themselves have often been thought of and referred to as crash sites - I don't believe this to be the case at all.

I think I am inclined to agree with you here. The "Flower Ships", (which I think we can assume are Thargoid until proven otherwise) and the Barnacles are closely associated. The Barnacles are organic in nature. They "grow" Meta-Alloys. The structures that have been found dotted about the Pleiades are also (according to the scan data collected) organic. And I'm going to assume (until better evidence presents itself) that the Barnacles are Thargoid tech of some sort.

Therefore, I'm of the opinion (FWIW), that these sites are akin to a ship yard. Think about it... The Thargoids are alien. DBOBE has stressed a few times that they are alien in almost every aspect. Their Biology. Their culture. Their tech. And most likely their societal structure. In fact, everything about them is 'alien' to us.

We humans manufacture our tech. Our stations. Our ships. Our weapons. From gathered resources. Thargoids, I believe, grow theirs - where the resources are. Which makes each and every one of these sites a potential Thargoid capital ship construction facility. They're growing their invasion force. That's assuming they're ships. They may be something else entirely, who knows. But whatever they are, I reckon they're being grown.

The disrepair that some are in, being "fixed/repaired" by the Scavengers? Well, we know shadowy human forces are at work. Such as INRA for eg. I wouldn't be surprised if they (INRA or whoever they are) have been well aware of our little green friends for some time, and have attempted to sabotage their plans... however... the Thargoids are evolving, or developing immunity against, the Mycoid Virus. INRA know it and are now bricking it.

Perhaps that's why they haven't attacked us yet after pulling us from Hyperspace or at the Barnacles? Humans almost wiped them out with the Mycoid Virus, maybe they're being cautious. However, once they are all fully immune... it's payback time!

And slowly, and surely, they are drawing their plans against us...

Anyway - just my thoughts. Could be wrong. Probably am.
Nicely put together hypothesis BTW OP o7

... an Unknown Artefact and an Unknown Probe.

You will need to acquire the Unknown Link once inside the structure, via an anti chamber, just off the main corridors. I would recommend going here FIRST on arrival to get the UL. You approach the internal structures (whatever they are) within the anti room whereupon the unknown link is dropped. If like me, you deposit your UA and UP into the interface within the central edifice, and THEN go to get the UL, it fails to drop ... not sure if this was a bug?

If the UL drop bugs out for you, an Ancient Relic can be used as a substitute. Kinda...

I agree with. Perhaps not with all of the details, but certainly am thinking much along the same lines. I happen to think that the ships are being constructed and/or grown.
Maybe a look at the film: Monsters; Dark Continent. It is the second Monsters film and it shows how the aliens reproduce. They die and their 'spores' go into the ground and new ones then grow and evolve. This could be the same kind of thing.

I don't to think anyone has pointed out that the thargoid 'star map' doesn't bare much resemblance to the milky way. I don't think it's a map room somehow.

It might resemble the milky way if you had compound eyes, and 6 of them at that. Probably not, but hey, just throwing that out there :)

I would say it is 'their own route map'. Maybe a faster way to travel the distances, using those stars in the display.

Assuming that they are stars that is, we don't know what they are or how the thargoids perceive the universe via their senses.

Despite all of the speculation we don't know that much.

Greetings again CMDRs.

Here's a final post from me on this thread with my round up and analysis of the information obtained from within one of the structures so far.

Let me know your thoughts on this in the comments.

My theory about the map is that it might be a map of their own galaxy. I reckon their galaxy is a spiral galaxy, at least if my assumption is correct.
