Thargoids are solid

It seems Thargoids have delivered what has been promised and more. FD have certainly done this update just right and praise is required where praise is due. I definitely love multiple approaches commanders can take towards Thargoids. Also feel of misunderstanding still lingering here and there's so many questions to unfold.

Definitely nailed first impressions.
 
Just got hyperdicted and attacked in my corvette. Me and my 2 wing mates just got smashed. I got out with 18% hull, one wing mate died and the other got away largely intact in his cutter. That was the most intense fight I have ever been in...and it was awesome.

Way too early for that....

Goids seem friendly unless you shoot them or invade their personal space for too long... Seems like the fighters mostly do shield damage where as the ship ignores shields. Mass Locks you to high hell so escape takes 2 mins +.

Entirely agree... and first impressions last. :)
 
Yes. I am pleased. My wing mate and I barely escaped after I offensively rescued an occupied escape pod which was under scrutiny from a Thargoid ship.

That. Was. So INTENSE! I’ve never been happier to have my butt kicked.
 
They are really friendly. I just hat 6 encounters an one hyperdiction and if your behaviour is correct you have no trouble with them. Just learn to communicate with them. If they get red and start swarm - increase distance and they will process their business without hurting you. If you stay - you have been warned...

And their business is currently to scan and recover each piece of their technology stolen by humans.
 
I jousted with it for a good 15 mins in a cutter with G5 modded 5,500 shields and ~3000 hull. You can`t damage them atm, i unloaded multiple barrages of modded pack hounds and and everything else, with no damage. Its easy to hit it and evade the tharglets as they trail a distance behind it as it tries to close on you. With speed, the human ships will have the edge as tactics wise they seem a bit dumb.

Edit, and it can mass lock the cutter out to 6 km.

Its just first impressions, but so far so good. I espescially like how it doesnt just cater to one group. I'd somewhat expected it to be a combat-update, but here I am: flying an Adder trying to save pilots from the Thargoids, using the new salvage&rescue screen. Huh. [up]

Yeah, salvaging connected with Thargoids was one thing I did NOT expect. Nicely played FD.

Errr, they’re taking escape pods! Hardly their technology.

But yeah, awesome so far and I can’t help think there is more for us to find. Well done FD!
