Thargoids found using human language in comms. Pro-xeno coalition claims credit

Thargoid vessels have recently been found interacting with human ships’ comms systems, using human language. The text lines however, read stilted and disjointed, leading many to believe that this was a widespread malfunction of the comms software, maintained by the Pilots Federation. This discovery was reported by the AEGIS Reforged group.

Recently however, two human groups with a self-proclaimed “pro-Thargoid” alignment, have claimed to be behind the incident, the groups in question being The Allied Order of Exemplars and YKE Technologies. Bishop Abdul Crane, as representative of the Exemplars declared the following, shortly after this discovery:

“The Thargoid vessels in question were equipped with experimental translation equipment that we developed in collaboration with YKE Technologies, in the capital of our pro-xeno coalition, HIP 28612, at the newly-inaugurated Whiterose Institute. Research progress is so fast, that the Institute still has unfinished sectors, and we welcome any assistance with construction.”

YKE Technologies' faction representative made the following comment, the same day:

Initial reports of the portable translator prototype reveal it to be a resounding success. It is nothing short of a miracle that we were able to place the device onto Thargoid ships without aggravating them, let alone that they would begin to use it on their own. We invite more research-focused groups to join us in HIP 28612 so that we may finally make progress in understanding the Thargoids.”

CMDR Dylan D, CEO of YKE Technologies, has issued a follow-up response to the Allied Order of Exemplars’ announcement regarding the Prototype Translator:
"The prototype translator, rushed into deployment to help avert potential colonial interspecies conflict, appears to respond dynamically to provocation, drawing from Pilots Federation comms lexicons in ways we didn’t entirely anticipate.

So far, it seems only capable of interpreting what can best be described as Negative Thargoid Emotions: fear, hostility, territoriality, likely due to the tense and reactionary circumstances under which most encounters still occur. Our engineers hope to refine these elements once the module is approved for public release.

The translator's foundation lies in theoretical research recovered from the Sim Archive, the Utopians’ vast databank of human consciousness models. Originally designed to simulate and preserve human cognitive processes, the Sim Archive became instrumental when YKE Technologies and the Allied Order of Exemplars identified its potential for interspecies communication.

By analyzing the Archive's extensive data on non-verbal cognition and emotional expression, Project: Embassy researchers hypothesized that equivalent emotional markers, between Humans and Thargoids, could be established to fully decode Thargoid Intention. Thargoid bioships emit a semiotic data stream not governed by linguistic syntax but by patterns of emotional intent encoded through harmonic resonance. Utilizing decoding algorithms extracted, by request, from the Archive, we developed a hybrid interface: one part emotional-lexical, one part resonance-matching, which produces curious results.

The result is a translator that doesn’t listen for specific words or phrases, it listens for intent, and assigns Human language to that intent. While early outputs are admittedly crude, filtered through human-language combat phrases and aggressive semantic defaults, they represent a monumental shift in our relationship with the unknown. The Thargoids are transmitting intelligible intention. And for the first time, we may be beginning to finally hear them.

This Interspecies breakthrough, however unpolished, proves that mutual understanding is no longer a fantasy, it is an emerging reality. Xenologists with the Embassy plan to test this prototype during Interspecies Meta Alloy donations in the coming weeks. There's much to refine, and much more to learn."

Inspiration for this post: A Chat bug was introduced recently where Thargoids begin speaking in plain English, once provoked into Combat scenarios. Despite it being a bug, it got a lot of Interspecies Advocates excited, imagining what an actual First Contact could look like. Since our group does not engage in Thargoid Combat, we nearly missed this one. Shout-out to CMDR Mechan for the discovery and screenshot. Also, shout-out to Paul the Thargoid!
