Thargoids stole my Basic Medicines!

Anyway my issue is not that the commodity is completely gone which is cool in itself, though it would be nice to know what makes a station produce Basic Medicines (I suspect being in "boom" state), but the fact that the map is just completely useless. Why have a trade route filter by commodity if it doesn't show what it is actually traded? I don't give a damn about which commodity a system export (or import) in normal time, I want to know where a commodity is available at the time I need it.
It's the war in Mechucos.

It's still a trade route; you just can't buy basic medicines right now. Do a bit of fighting for the faction and get some cash from combat bonds, and the supply will reappear when the war ends.

Yes nice catch checking a nearby system :) But anyway once again my issue wasn't the product being completely gone but the trade route filter being useless. If a commodity is no longer exported (or imported for the receiving systems) for whatever reason, it simply shouldn't appear as a trade route, period.

Haha, I love the explanations in this thread about the trade routes, "its generic", "it is a general state, not split second stats" , hmm the "Apologists" are firing on all cylinders!
Why bother putting a map in game, elaborately done, the is basically worthless, well because... At least places like Inara. cz can give you the information you need. In view Eilte Dangerous has all to often been marred by design decisions like this. Hugely frustrating. Engineers was /is the same mostly. Elaborate systems that in reality are useless.
The Galaxy map is one thing thy did get right, and it i consistent and has become better than initially. And of course the flight model.
The rest well , meh!

I know, it's not like they wouldn't have a "delayed" price list for every station in the year 3k+ I mean you should be able to ask for the full list and prices at a system from any other system albeit you should have to wait for the information to arrive given the distances involved.

I appreciate your point of view, but I would disagree - it's still a trade route, and the filter shows trade routes: records of what commodities have been moving around the bubble. It even shows trade routes of loss-making runs. In other words, it's useful for finding trade routes, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it's purely to be used for finding profitable trade routes. It's a record, and should be treated as such. For instance, if someone is using trade to undermine a faction, the filter as it stands now enables me to find the commodity being imported and, importantly, its source, which then enables me to take steps to address the underminer.

It would be less of an issue if you could filter systems for states affecting the non-controlling factions too (or, indeed, if you could filter for all systems a faction operates in) - I got lucky and found the conflict in the first system I checked. Besides, it's not as if there aren't about 10 industrials within a 20ly radius of Nareni!

Well I never talked about finding a profitable trade route but simply about finding a commodity. You open the galmap, filter trade routes by commodities and find a system exporting a product, you fly to the unique station in that system to check the prices and supply and you find out that the station actually is not selling it at all (so in other words: the system is not exporting it despite what the trade route is saying). If you can't find a commodity with the filter it is useless.
