That horrible, fake southern accent

My favourite has to be the cringy Russian accent, although they nailed the Scottish one, then again FD are based in Britain so a Scottish accent wouldn't be hard to come by

As a Texan I have to say that woman traffic controller with the fake southern accent makes me want to rip my ears off. For those of you in Great Britain it is akin to an American saying "ello guvna fancy a spot o tay?' (shudder) Absolutely horrific.
Dunno, seems fitting, though I am sure it all depends on where from texas you are, even in Denmark, a tiny country, smaller then texas has dialects.
So is it correct? I do not know.
Does it fit the stereotype that most of the world hears the dialect as? probably.

I just love it when i play with friends from England, and they tell me to say specific words in my accent, and I reply with "What accent?"

They nailed it because it is a Scottish accent, there's also an Irish, English etc. The southern drawl sounds the same as the one from the Tom Cruise movie "Oblivion".

Yea I know but throughout my years of playing online not many countries are capable of doing a Scottish accent so gaming companies actually have to hire a Scot to do the accent. It's the same with Welsh.
It's rather amusing listening to an American or someone from England attempt a Scottish accent.
But never the less it really brightened up my day to hear such a familiar accent in the depths of space

Spent a large part of my life in West Virginia. Sounds about right to me. There are other southern accents than Texas. She's the most homely by far.

Are you kidding me? You think I don't know that there are non-Texan southern accents? If you say it sounds right for WV bet you moved there from somewhere north of the Mason-Dixon

Hahaha. That's quite funny. To me her accent sounded identical to the Tet control ship lady (Sally) in the film Oblivion.

Flimley

The Welsh accent would be more tricky then the Scottish one. Then each area in each country have their own accents. Ireland has 32 counties and each has a very distinct accent so that we can tell what county a person is from by their accent, accents can be different even though they may be ten miles apart. Scotland,Wales and England would be similar but in Ireland its very distinctive. The accent in the northern part of Ireland is similar to Scotland as people have been coming and going for thousands of years.

True, but someone from the East of Scotland also sounds very different to someone from the West, and someone from the northern isles will sound more Nordic than Scots :)

I quite like it, she definitely reminds me of Sally / TET from oblivion.

Now what we need is a Yorkshire traffic control, :) imagine " oi you ya kno# sack, If tha dunt stop blockin't pad we'll kill thie.

I come from Birmingham, the Black Country is only 10 mins up the road, even so, a Brummy sounds totally different to a Yam Yam. Dialects can be very different over very small distances.

During the middle ages Gaelic as you call it in Scotland or the Irish language (Gaeilge) would have been spoken from Co. Cork in the south of Ireland to the highlands of Scotland as the Irish took it with them when they went to Scotland and became known as the highlanders.
The language of the Gaels.

I've honestly never heard it. I left Federal space once I outfitted my Adder, and I haven't been back since. Now that I have my Clipper, maybe I'll head back and hear this accent for myself.

I find both funny. Win/win for me.
