Thats it!

I ?upgraded? from Python to a Type9.
I took her out mining and then got stuck in the entrance to the station and got throttled to death.
Took her out again (no insurance now) and promptly did the same thing. DUH!
90m loss.
Turned off and sulked that night. Was angry at myself for not getting a docking computer.
Started back in a Sidey but pleased I still had my ASP & Vulture parked up at home.
Actually enjoyed flying the smaller ships until I could afford to buy another Python. Will never fly that T-9 bucket of spanners again.
Always fly with Insurance and I can dock my Annie now.:)

It's a great feeling, right? Almost like when I spent hours on Pokemon as a kid and said "nah, these lvl 100s aren't fun any more" and restarted so I could enjoy the beauty of a level 5 piece of salad...

Still got an Eagle parked up at the re-start city. It's there so if everything goes wrong and I die a couple of times consecutively I have something ready to earn me a few credits, but I can't deny I fly by there every now and then to take it for a spin. With FA off it can manoeuvre so well that I sorely wish it had the firepower to make it tenable for use in bounty hunting.

This had occured per nauseum and although it is the OPs fault for flying uninsured, I believe it is not fair for punishing someone that hard especially as it is at least 50% Frontier to blame . It is a fraking game after all. So I come up with this solution:

-What if, when you don't have insurance cover, you go back in a sidey (or another ship if you have somewhere stored) and get a negative balance and play your way back to zero until you can pay back the insurance plus a fine. Keep flying uninsured and getting destroyed and this fine starts to increase exponentially after each and every boom.
That way
1st. You don't loose your precious expensive ship that took you so long to get and
2nd. Your attitude towards flying (i.e. driving ;) ) insured or uninsured matters. Keep flying uninsured and blowing up, and your insurance + fine rises and rises. It is up to you to change your bad habbitt.

I believe this approach would solve the problem once and for all.

Yes I know about the loan thing - I didn't know that it increased with your rank, I thoght it was fixed at about 200,000 crds. what I describe is something similar but without an abrupt cut-off punishing line. It is a smoother punishment for someone that blows once or twice without insurance and gets progressively and exponentially more severe as they continue to do so.

Yep, the idea of an insurance not wanting you when you don't comply the rules is more like a real approach.. same with real life insurances actually.

No sympathy from me ref no insurance - sorry.

But the ramming is interesting, I mainly get rammed by bounty hunters. I suspect it is a genuine bug when ships approach for scanning and try to approach to, well, somewhere inside your hull.

I lost my Conda last week due to this, as my shields were a bit low - but, hah, I was insured. Took me a whole day to earn back the several millions lost tho., so annoying.
