Ah yes, I've been here precisely once on a passenger mission. Wish some of the other starports in the game could be in this low an orbit

I've been there once, had a bounty there. Really scary place, looks like it's about to plummet inside the gas giant.

There are a couple of other really low ones, most famously the Outpost (not the Orbis, the other one) orbiting Azeban in Eranin.

It's my understanding that there originally were lots more stations this close to their planets, but FD moved most of them further out for gameplay reasons. While they might look cool and scenic, getting to and from them in Supercruise is a pain, as it takes so long to crawl that far into or out of a gravity well.

Good point actually... they could've fixed it by increasing the acceleration in the gravity well which is a pain in many other situations... oh well... FDEV...

It's all relative though... Replace that gas giant with an ELW and you would be thinking its not orbiting at all.

Yeah I think I went to one (maybe it was this one) back when it was so close that it took like 15 minutes to get there.

Thanks for the heads-up, turns out I was only two jumps away from Firdaus, so I popped over for a looksee.

Dropped into the station as it was crossing the terminator into daylight, so I stopped the Cobra and went for a VR-assisted camera suite EVA. Spent 10 minutes watching a storm formation slowly pass by below as the station spun and the distant traffic glistered on their sliver trails..cough cough sorry, almost had an attack of the poetics there.
