The 1.1 Collision Damage Thread

I was too irresponsible with my cash and went into a combat zone to try out the new changes in 1.1 without enough money to cover insurance for my Python. I decided I'd ram into an Anaconda with its shields down and my shields up, figuring I'd just bounce off him with the way collision changes were described. Instead I instantly exploded and now I'm back to square 1. I didn't realize any refunds were being offered, and I'd at least like to recover the cost of my Python. Should I submit a ticket?

You rammed an Anaconda in full knowledge that you didn't have the rebuy? Darwinism at work I would say

So can i continue playing today with my anaconda or do i have to fear to get magically destoryed? Is this ramming issue fixed? Saw a patch yesterday.

Collision stuff is fixed, as far as I can see.

Sudden going boom thing, might also be fixed haven't seen any new incidents with it.

That said, I still feel like my landing gear is longer then before 1.1?

As I was anaconda hunting in my viper (much harder, but still very possible) today, i suffered a collision going over 300mps.. and nada.. just a slight ding to the shield. Shortly after, I was leaving a station and bumped the tower on takeoff (slowly, landing gear still down) and exploded violently. Karma for my lucky escape earlier?
Actually indicative it may not be working perfectly yet, just reduced the number of anomalic random explosions.

On that note, anyone tried using tactical ramming in combat after thr patch and found it reasonably reliable?

- You went to a conflict zone with a Python and without the rebuy cost?

- You decided to ram a bigger ship with your Python without having the rebuy cost?

If I wanted to loss everything and restart the adventure from the very beginning I won't make it any different...

About the issue with scratching and ramming, I can confirm it is now fixed.

Greetings

First post here. Been having fun with the game so far. I am another casualty to the 1.1 crash bug. I thought I read a post from one of the Dev's (Michael?) that we will be credited back for any losses incurred? I was a bit too close to an Anaconda apparently and went boom. Had some pricey cargo as well (platinum, some palladium, rare artwork and a few other things I cant remember. Not to mention the bounties accrued from the Empire, Federation and alliance.

Question: Do I need to open a ticket for this credit to work or is FD going to check the data base and work with that? Even if I just got the insurance costs back I would be very happy.

Repair costs are auto credited back. If you went boom and couldn't afford the rebuy, open a ticket.

Sorry if already covered elsewhere, but my searches did not reveal:

When can we expect the auto-credit on the repair/re-buy/gargo costs for our tickets? (Mine was submitted on the 10th and hasn't received so much as a "ack - you are in line")

This is my concern as well. I'm starting to believe that since they don't have enough individuals to go through all of the tickets that were generated, we may be in for a very long wait. I could understand a week or two at the most. However, there have been some who have posted to the forum saying that their support tickets have not been responded to for over a month. I would like to say this is unacceptable but in reality we have no other choice. I hope they can figure out a way to look at the database and calculate who lost what during which time frame and x number of credits lost in an automated procedure. The window isn't multiple days for this issue so I don't see how it may not be possible unless they don't track the key for credits lost (insufficient funds to pay insurance). I wonder if they could look at the timeframe of the patch and look at the difference between income at start and income post patch fix. The downside to that would be those who lost their ships legitimately or those who bought something really expensive during the selection.

Regardless, I do wish there was more communication aside from "open a ticket" (mine is 37388 or otherwise known as "imperial clipper the new Pinto"). It's akin to saying "place your request into this file cabinet which may get looked at during our cleaning sometime in the next few years". By communication I'm looking for "yes, we acknowledge we didn't get to solve all of the losses but we are trying to place a strategy to address those individuals".

Insert "oh wait you are serious" meme.

Ticketing this kinda thing is, I'm sure, in part for why the tickets are so far behind.

To his defense it may not be an entirely smart thing to do but it does illustrate a point. If prior to the patch you bumped a ship and just bounced off it taking some shield damage then I think it is entirely reasonable to expect the same to happen post patch. Unless it is was stated that ramming at slow speed from now on would cause insta death would be another story. So my point is when you have experience doing an activity (regardless of how you personally feel about it) and the results of that activity are changed without your knowledge I think there is a legitimate issue. Especially when it is acknowledged and fixed.
