The 15 second logout timer in action

In a Beta a while ago we tested this strategy og joining multicrew and what happens to your ship. It appeared that the second I joined another ship in multicrew my ship disappeared. Don't know if this "feature" survived into live build but if so: there you got your totally legit instant "teleport" without any timer.

Cheers

there's a delay when you join MC.....Ive never timed it but I suspect 15 seconds?

Cheeky.

Do we need a second combat logging thread? :p

Menu logging = legal, but frowned upon
Combat logging = illegal, also frowned upon.
Staying and fighting = frowned upon
Running = frowned upon.

/Thread.

Someone interdicting your CMDR over and over again for an in-game reason is neither griefing, nor harassment, and not a violation of the rules.

That is incorrect, if they are specifically targeting an individually player over and over in Open then that is reportable and is against TOS. That is exactly why a "KOS list" is not permitted and any discussion of putting players on such a list on the forums is moderated, the same as naming and shaming other CMDRs.

Baiting them into doing so specifically so you can log off (which cannot be an in-character action) in order to frustrate them is all of those things.

This is utter nonsense. You cannot "bait" someone into interdicting you, the player initiating the interdiction chooses their target. If you use a legitimate in-game mechanism such as a menu log to escape that is entirely within the rules.

Frameshift wake scanner is problematic and NEEDS to be deleted because it ALLOWS players to FOLLOW AND HARASS OTHER PLAYERS

Following a player through a high-wake is a completely legitimate in-game option but it is almost useless for griefers because most PVP combat ships are so heavily loaded with SCBs, MRPs, etc., that they can't actually follow another player effectively if they high-wake because they won't have the FSD range to keep up. Those PVP players rely entirely on defeating their target within a single interdiction attempt before they escape. The cases where a player is repeatedly targeting another player would be through other means, such as attacking that player repeatedly and destroying them immediately upon launching from a station, following them using information from someone on their friends list (which indicates system location) and so on.

Not yet, wait 15 seconds.
Tbh I stunt on these hos by waiting 30 seconds, just to let them know how much more powerful I am with my god mode on.

wrong, it is a problematic GRIEFING TOOL that allows PLAYERS TO HARRAASSS ME THEY ENED TO BE BANEND FROM MY GAME I KEEP DYING

This is brilliant, nice work cmdr. Can't wait for the day they finally sort this mess out. They'd have to coincide it with a decent solution to task kill too though as i'm sure people would just migrate over to doing that if the timer was increased sufficiently.

Rep to the OP.

Ohnoes your being added to the,"The ones that got away but in a unsports man like manner, not quite cheating as its well within the rules of the game" site.

I mean really how old are these people.

It's easy - the ship could stay in instance for a few minutes if it's owner disconnects while in range of other players.

My CMDR has been in situations where he has repeatedly engaged and destroyed the vessels of one or more other CMDRs, multiple times. Not once was I targeting another player, or attempting to cause them grief. I was having my CMDR act in accordance with his character by responding to wholly in-game events, with in-game actions, in the context of the game's setting.

There is nothing against the rules of the game or in the TOS that can reasonably be interpreted as prohibiting a player from having their CMDR initiate or respond to hostilities against in-game enemies, even if it's the same enemy over and over again.

You cannot "bait" someone into interdicting you

That is utter nonsense.

I can have my CMDR act in a manner blatantly contrary to their CMDRs' goals or interests, making the most obvious and proper course of action for them to pull him over.

What are other CMDRs supposed to do if my CMDR is causing problems for them? Ignore him? A major part of why I'm in Open is so other CMDRs have a shot at opposing my CMDR.

If I instead behave in an insulting and/or belligerent manner, then menu log to remove any chance at my CMDR facing consequences, there by wasting everyone's time, that is as clear cut griefing as it gets.

It seems like any viable solution is batted away because it would involve FD spending $$$

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Or, that it had been exposed as impossible to do with the game as designed. Certainly it's not a big enough issue to invest in a redesign. It's just pixels organized to look like an explosion, after all.
