Think nothing of it. Most times I forget people don't get my sense of humour. Besides we dont talk about the ThudPacker side of the family. Some sort of falling out about 3 generations ago. Some say it all started with a six pack and a duck. Others say a gold mine, fuel tank and a boomerang.

I seem to remember it was six ducks and a back pack full of gold...

I finished my map. I used my Eathlike discoveries as markers.

So like I said, I left the Bubble before Horizons rolled out, so I could barely make it past the 65k line. Luckily for me, though, my good friend CMDR Aybkamen happened to be in the neighbourhood:

I had just bought Horizons, so we both headed down to the planet to collect some Jumponium. Aybkamen very helpfully found the materials for me in his SRV, so I could go get them in my Asp (I knew I brought those lasers this far for something). That gave me enough oomph to make it to Beagle Point!

There he is, jumping around in his SRV!

BONUS: Some kickin' rad deep-space SRV jumps
Show off.

I DID IT! Huzzah! I have arrived at beagle point!

Me and 4 guests.

I made it through Svenno crossing with a 34 Light year jump range. Here is the album of evidence: http://imgur.com/a/ZAVAu

I left with 8 SRVs, 20 Fuel limpets and a lot of Netflix.

I arrived with 7 SRVs, 9 Fuel limpets, 4 Escape pods and 80% Hull. I lost some limpets from a malfunctioning cargo hatch and the SRV fell of a 7km high cliff.

To future explored I say this, go around the abyss if you have less than 41 light years in jump range. It will drive you mad.

I will be meeting up with CMDR Rusticolus tomorrow as well!

Just met CMDR ThudPacker out here http://i.imgur.com/psWdDMf.jpg

Rusti should be online later and we can get a 3 man meeting!

Rusty, while we're waiting: a view of maybe the second triple-meetup beyond the 65K line, and what will hopefully soon be the first quadruple meetup!

Not to be overly sensitive but its ThudPucker, the other is just rude :) Lets have better luck monday.

I haven't made my 65K post yet 'couse I don't know how to post the screen shot. So I'll try this, if it don't work sorry for the mess. Hope this works

Updating right now

I had a crazy thought. Maybe we should adopt Wolf974's DW logo as the 65k club logo? With edited text to represent "65k club" or something.
Z..

That's a great idea, probably the timing is wrong since the other logo jusr won the competition.
I like wolf logo better, but democracy is democracy!!!!

I'm thinking to award club members with wolf logo, but before me must contact him, ask if he accepts and if he changes the writing around the logo with "65K UC Certified".
Zeeman, can you do it for me since I'm very busy with other stuff now?

IMPORTANT UPDATE: INCOMING LIST IS CLOSED
I'm sorry, but RL + DW forum activities have reduced my ingame time to half an hour every 2 days. I cannot cope with incoming list anymore. Maybe I will reopen it next summer.
THIS DOES NOT MEAN THE CLUB IS CLOSED I will still accept club membership and randaeszxvouszx, history entries will be decided by me and Flector record is still to be put there, POI section is closed untill after DW arrival since I will have to make big update then.

I hope you understand me, lately I'm just on the forums and comm channels, logged out.
Thanks to all incomers, you are on your own now, but you will be inserted in the list.

OFC I'm glad if this thread keeps on beeing a discussion centre regarding the far rim, and if you have doubts, requests, questions, here will still be the place to come since many vets frequent this place and are eager to help you.

Hi Folks

I arrived at Beagle Point this evening after travelling 81,475ly. I've had a fantastic journey exploring over 3000 systems along the way. I found many water worlds and quite a few earth-like systems including two earth-likes orbiting each other. Perhaps surprisingly enough I didn't encounter any Black Holes or Neutron Stars. Of course I am only really 'half way' as I intend to make the journey back home in the coming weeks.

I set out on 4 Jan 3302 in my 34.5ly Asp Explorer and arrived 18 Jan 3302 with 91% hull remaining and 89% on the Power Plant. No FSD boost was used. I had 5 emergency drops mostly due to my own mistakes interacting with system stars but fortunately nothing worse than that as of yet.

This was my first voyage to the outer reaches and I was cautious when crossing the Abyss due to my inexperience and what I had read about it. I took a route that started between The Roncevaux and Beagle crossing points. Once I was confident the crossing was assured I started heading more to the west as I came towards the northern edge of the crossing.

I took a few screenshots at CEECKIA ZQ-L C24-0 in various aspect ratios. I'll update as I continue my journey back towards the bubble. I hope to visit some more wonders of the galaxy as I work my way back home.

o7 cmdrs,

I just wanted to chuck my hat in the ring. I set off about a week ago (forgot exactly when I set off!), and I'm now about 5k beyond the core and enjoying the scenery. I'll pop back with an update when I reach Beagle point.

With a bit of luck, maybe I'll bump into some other intrepid explorers out in the black.

Great to meet up with the three of you :)

I managed to get another couple of jumps to 65,228.89 Ly with my 32.3 Ly range when on fumes.

Evidence:
65229_Evidence.jpg

I have been nearly a month out here, so I think it is time for me to head for home
TimeToHeadHome.jpg

Stats on the trip so far:

  • 3,437 New systems
  • 3,445 Jumps
  • 93,537 Ly travelled

PS. I managed to miss my 20,000th system with all the jumping over the last 24 hrs trying to get to the meet-up! Oh well, there is always 25,000 :D

CMDR, I just want to thank you for your work! Your thread has inspired me and many others to make the hugely rewarding and interesting trek to the furthest stars. I hope you enjoy DW, and I'm looking forward to all the updates :)

I got to 65K LY yesterday, I might turn back or head toward the beagle point, I'm not quite sure yet but I sure feel like here or there, the view is the same! I rather head back and keep on going from nebulas to nebulas unless there's a meetpoint with other commanders all the way over there!

Yup - I'm happy to deal with that. I'll get in touch and see if he can make the adjustments, or if he's happy for me to organise for it to be done.

Z...

Could you update the rendezvous list? if it is not too much to ask. Me, ThudPucker, Rusticolus and Iliteratsqirel all met up in the system CEECKIA QJK-P C22-0. Me and the others linked the proof the other day in this thread.
