Woo! Finally made it back home! Honestly, I wasn't sure if I was gonna make it, especially since my canopy has looked like this since shortly after I left Beagle Point:

So yeah, small miracle that I made it back in one piece. Maybe next time I set out on a 65k journey I'll try to break the speed record (if there is one).

I estimate the Buckyball Beagle to be at the very least 25 hours of flight.
Congratulations on making it back alive. The return journey really testes your endurance: no more shiny goals ahead of you, and 65k to slog back (assumimg you can cross at svenno). I'm still 19k out but I will make it before Horizon and endurance is really put to its limits. Not looking forward pyout and rank that much the only thing that makes me going on back home is that there's no other viable choice.

Regarding the records there are not. CMDR Alot is an hell of a runner, and with exploconda passing at svenno it used 35 gameplay hours (split in sessions) to do beagle point-sol. I don't know if it will ever be wise to make such a buckyball, real people can get lunatic/phisically injured in try this in a row. Even if you can cross at svenno you cannot use the route plotter there. CMDR Alot 35 hours was a guesstimation becouse he didn't record time and (by fortune) took time to have a walk away from the keyboard, my guesstemation leans more toward 40 hours.

Ah, and there is Erimus proposal: SOUTHERN MERIDIAN -> NORTHERN MERIDIAN = 80K without the detours. Guesstimated 85 hours. If you ask me I would make such a proposal illegal for people health :)

Congratulations CMDR! I should be back hoe within the next 10 days... I hope most of my scans out in Ceeckia are still first discoveries! LOL! Ceeckia regions seems more populated than the Bubble these days!

I had not intended to do any Buckyball-style race longer than the A* Challenge. But if there is demand for keeping track of a Beagle to Beagle speed record, I'm sure we can arrange that :)

OMG, stranded people on the road screaming "4, 3, 2, 1, ENGAGE" before making another step, lunatics entering bars and asking the phone number of the Fuel Rats. People asking around if neon bulbs are "scoopable". It's the end of tahe world.

It would only be a problem if Zeeman announced that he would arrive in Kanu in Open on the 16 Dec. 3301, at 15:43 GMT+1 in a shield-less, weapon-less ship...(ups, probably should not have said that, sorry)

Greetings Commanders,

here's a screenshot from April 20, 2015. This was taken from Myeia Thaa IC-D D12-1 with a distance of 65,301.77 LY to Sol.

This journey from Jameson Memorial to this point is documented at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WPxSk9P0F_o – go to time index 42h:43min for video of distance measurement.

The “From Ipanema” began this voyage on Mar 16 and returned safely on May 17 with a total flight time of 61 days, 7 hours, 56 minutes and 12 seconds.

P.S.: I saw only now that I had been already added to the list – many thanks to whoever signed me up.

Welcome CMDR! Indeed we try to put everyone in the list, so any 65K+ tag has been added too, and we also tried to figure out the date (and in facy we almost hit the exact date). But when we have genuine first hand information it's the best case. The only possibility for someone to be slipped out of the list is of CMDRs that went there, didn't tell anyone in any forum, didn't tag a thing or never made it back. I think it's really rare something like this happens, and I think that, if any, really few CMDRs that have been there before the club could possibly not be in the list.

BTW, updating the list with date and distance and welcome to the club.

We ahve a new member, he befriended me in game and I saw his position: in th pic the distance is from me, but experienced explorers will rekcognize the system name where the CMDR is sitting in a glance.

CMDR chroot is our 36th member. His intentions are to navigate the Treehouse and when done come back here to submit his max distance.

Just found my very first ringed ELW (63K from sol)

Sup CMDR. I see you have not submitted a max distance yet, did I loose it?

Thank you CMDR Akira Masakari, this thread inspired my journey there.

The max distance seems to be 65.374 Ly, taken with the star behind / left. However, this indeed Myeia Thaa JI-B D13-0 system as i am merely a pilgrim. I'm all hears for your input on that distance, how is that possible?

65,035 Was as far as I went, didn't really see the point in trying to go further with the new fuel additives coming soon. I wanna try out your method of searching for ELW's in the core...so I'm headed to the barn, and checking out anything shiny along the way.

Sup CMDR, will add to the list! I'm 11K from Home, already on the verge to switch on shields. 12 ELWs in my returnig trip, so good luck!

Now 50,032ly from Sol with 82% hull. Flying tired adds its own hazards. Hoping to hit the Svenno Crossing next week, though I might try to forge my own route through... We'll see, though.

Fly safe, commanders!

Hi CMDR!!! Indeed you eneded up in the furthest system reacheable so far. How is it possible? When star density gets that low there are few compulsory routes to choose from, and a lot of people end their journey in 3 systems:
Beagle Point,
Trilateral Meeting Point,
Myeia Thaa JI-B d13-0,

These are the dead ends of the 3 most visible routes that bring after the 65K, the latest one beeing actually reachable only with anaconda.

Now with jumponium and boosts all of that will change and we will have new records, altough even boosting it seems that 66K will be out of reach: there doesn't seem to be stars at all there, jumponium or not.
BTW adding your max distance

Updating!!! Svenno crossing is very harsh, it goes west of the meridian in the negative X axis. It's really the manual jump feast. You could try to stay on the meridian on the X=0, it will sligtly better (but forget the route plotter), and bring you directly below the 65K line without detours. Good luck and watch out in the Abyss.

A lot of brave explorers out there, kudos to you all on that list! This is a very ambitious goal you guys have here. Keep it up! :)
