increasing the dominant trait is great and all, but then I have all the dinosaurs competing with each other for dominance if they all come from one clutch. also it would be fun to choose to have an evil critter by increasing negative traits.

Would fit with the canon too. They obviously can engineer the animals to be docile (seen in the herbivores, while modern herbivores actually tend to be more aggressive than predators), but they want their carnivores to show aggression. Doubly so for the Indominus, which was specifically designed to be scary.
