Ah well, if we're doing the Mk IV's also...

I don't really like mining much - correction I don't enjoy it at all and have hardly ever done it! 😐 But still, I had the Mk IV, so that's what I used it for, in case the name didn't give it away.

Maybe I should log in and actually engineer her and see what she can do - I don't think engineering was a thing when I first got her. 🤔

A dazzling Mk IV, beautiful colour, whatever you choose to do with this fine starship, the cobra will accommodate as its versatility is unmatched.

This one serves no practical purpose other than pure nostalgia, but she does it so well. The only thing that holds this back from perfection is the presence of the twin gun ports*; if FD made the legacy single-port Jameson Cobra available as a flyable DLC I would buy all the arx.

*technically you could argue that in legacy Elite the representative image on the ship's viewscreen -- with twin beams -- never matched the external configuration of the Cobra, so twin guns are OK "from a certain point of view."

But I'd still love to be able to fly a proper old-school Cobra in ED.

I totally agree, the modern cobra is polished and exhilarating, a true cobra enthusiast can admire all the sensibilities and design philosophies of the modern cobra, but nothing compares to the classic vintage cobra, that was overwhelming light years ahead of its time in all aspects and would easily run circles around its modern counterparts. "Jack Schitt" you have good taste, and a very appealing modern cobra. (y)
