The AMD Supersampling - Ultra Quality - Boosted my FPS

I only have a 1060 GPU and got shocked when I set the AMD Supersampling to Ultra Quality... What sorcery is this?

Previously, I was running 1080p on a 1440p screen and upscaled with FFY CAS and NO anti aliasing.
Now I'm running 1440p SMAA FSR Quality upscaling (I can't select balanced, as performance is always selected) with a similar performance, but the quality is worse.

I give up

I use regular supersampling to help with poor Elite AA. At x2 it looks ok.
AMD Supersampling might be helping with FPS, but it looks awful.

I have Nvidia card, so I've seen what DLSS can do in some games and while quality is slightly worse than having it manually upscaled, it's only slightly worse, with really noticeable FPS gain. This AMD thing is crap in comparison.

it was just a trick. I think optimization is impossible
Indeed; FSR is only a dirty bandaid on a very deep wound. It is not and should not be considered an end-all fix for performance in lieu of proper optimization.

Given their recommended spec, you should not be required to make resolution sacrifices with upscaling just to reach the bare minimum performance. I hope people at least understand this.

What driver version, has any tested latest 471.41
Does anyone with it get a boost, I don't I have it

I don't use experience either

I have not tested it, therefore I cannot directly give an answer. Indirectly though, generally speaking drivers don't usually ever give real performance boosts. Usually new drivers fix issues with older drivers that had caused performance losses.

Im thinking Nvidia are blocking fsr... When turned on gpu only used 40percent.. Fine on native
