Flown them all in the Rift - I like the Asp best for the view. Second for me is the Vulture, perhaps surprisingly, as I like seeing the gubbins on the left and right outside the windows - really makes you feel you're in a recessed cockpit. Clipper is nice but I don't like the style, it's too cartoony, as others have noted. Hated the Lakon 7 because I thought I bought a new ship and the inside was bogging - clearly there is no cleaning profession in ED! :p ;)

I've now flown every-ship under VR, thanks to the beta special of 100cr a ship.

The Sidewinder is great, with wonderful details... even a book on the shelf.

In my opinion, the Asp has the most "hoe-lee sheeeet" feel in VR... as you can see everywhere.
It doesn't feel protected, like a single pebble will smash the canopy. Sure lucky material science in the 34th century is better than today.
It is the explorer!

The Anaconda bridge is fantastic, with the orange bubble mat. It has a very UK design feel to it. Design cues from the London Tube. You really want to walk around.

The Cobra is cozy. Enough room for a duffel bag on the rear shelf.

The Python feeling the most like a deep space cruiser.
The felt covered center with the coffee holders (if you are wondering what the "push to open" panel is?) and the 80s CD player to the left is fantastic.

The Clipper is nice - but I agree with other posters, a bit cartoony. Nice floor paneling tho'. I was hoping for a Mercedes Benz interior.

The Orca, Hauler, Adder are all a bit plain. Like a Ford.

The Eagle, FDL and the Vulture are good, but nothing special.

The Viper looks like they hosed the last owner out of the cockpit... bit on the "used" side.

The Lakon cockpits are similar design, but Asp is the winner, unless you like the Battle Cow T9 (freaking mountain).

The cockpits need more life however - screens should update, lights change. Steam billow from exposed pipes.
They are a bit static.

Of all the things Id like to see animated:

1. That screen between our legs .... Getting something on that would be cool.
2. On the Dropship, if I look left and right, I swear I can see hot drink dispensers. I'd like an espresso and a Starbucks decal.

I think some people are voting for the cockpit details, surfaces, and design... while others (me) was voting based on view. For the view, so far the clipper has my vote. But for personality, I would say it has to go to the sidewinder or viper.

My experience so far: Sidewinder; Hauler; Viper; Lakon Type 6, Lakon Type 7, Vulture & Clipper. I like the feel of all of them. When I'm in a Hauler or another Lakon, I feel like I'm a trucker just hauling stuff for work, which is the point of it. When I'm in the other ships, they each give me a specific feel & vibe, but for absolute beauty factor, it's hands down the Clipper so far. It feel like flying a high class deck through space. The controls take a bit of getting used to though, especially when landing.

While the Asp was my favorite in terms of awesomeness, the Eagle is best for DK2. Everything in the Eagle cockpit is closer to your face since it's more cramped. The DK2 doesn't handle text that well, so having everything closer makes the text easier to read without having to constantly lean forward.

Needs a button for "All except the Orca". :D

I've flown everything. For pure view, I went with the Clipper. The Lakon's are good and I too love landing by sight alone but they don't light me on fire.
I actually really like flying the sidewinder and eagle in the Rift, both feel like they're hugging you and have great canopy's (especially the eagle).

Just bought an FdL and that's got to be one of the worst with pillars in all the wrong places.

My hopes however, are on the courier... Don't let me down FD!
