General / Off-Topic The best smell in the world

So it’s Easter and the time of the double bank holiday weekend (that’s 2 public holidays to everyone not in the U.K.) and in keeping with tradition I’ve been on a bender. This started Friday and fizzled out late Saturday night and In keeping with the religious aspect of Easter it is now well into ‘suffering sunday’ and Oh boy am I suffering. But I’m not here to garner sympathy but to state a simple irrefutable FACT

when your rough and recovering from a self inflicted malaise, such as I am, the greatest smell in the world is that of

BACON COOKING ON A GRILL.

now please be so kind as to keep your replies in the quiet aspect, my nose mayb in heaven but my heads far from it.

Bacon is indeed a wonderful smell. Basically it is vegetarian kryptonite.

As for others, I like petrichor.

Iron bru it just smells so fantastically artificial like astronaut food or android wee*.

Nothing like iron bru to cure a hangover, keep a bottle under your bed shake it let most of the fizz out then cap it and forget it until suffering. It's what Asterix the Gaul keeps in his flask.

I appreciate you making that veggie risotto when I visited. ;)

As much as I love bacon I'm going to remain firmly on the wagon.

as a vegan friend once said to me “I have the best of it as I get all of the smell but none of the badness”, as my mouth was full I had to reply with a hand gesture

Turbocharged locomotive diesel exhaust wafting back into proper Mark One carriage with added bonus of musty smell from steam heating.

Hot cross buns.

This thread concerns me

I'm worried too.

We piggies got to stick together. Quick, lets run into this straw house.

Eh, I know for a fact that you piggies stick together.

And you also tend to stick to cooking stone at times! :D

No straw house can save you from Easter Monday here!

The fresh air right after a good spell of rain, especially in a rural or wilderness area.

Alternately, scrambled eggs just for childhood memories. My dad makes the best scrambled eggs.
